Artest suspended For the Season, Jackson 30 Games, JO 25 Games, Wallace 6 games

Who said those fans were innocent? I would've bet that they'd been laughing and cheering when the cup hit Artest. Besides, the guy that Artest rushed down was making it seem like he had thrown the cup. None of these guys had run away or shouted out their innocence. All of them were taunting Artest, which gave him more reason to do what he did. They all asked for it.

Wow. Taunting someone gives reason to be attacked?

The guy didn't throw his beer at Artest. Artest went after the wrong guy. Even if that guy was taunting Artest, it doesn't give Artest any reason to attack the fan.

In real life, do you physically attack everyone who taunts you?

 

The guy he hit first never every threw the cup. Weither he was happy about it hitting him doesn't matter, he didn't do it he doesn't deserve to ever have some punk basketball player lay a finger on him.

 

Who cares whether he attacked the correct guy or not? He still crossed the line no matter how you want to look at it. He deserves every thing that is coming to him.

 

well...I'm going to take a different outlook...what about Artests rap album...lol now he has time to promote it and i think it will also be a much bigger success because of the fight...Now im not saying that he purposely started a fight...but it is ironic
Also i didnt see Anthony Johnson on the tape...did he just go in the stands or did he punch soemone out?

 

Artest did go after the wrong guy, but Stephen Jackson hit the man who later poured beer on Artest while he was on top of the wrong person.

I believe Anthony Johnson and Reggie got suspended because they were on the injured list and they got involved... leaving the bench.

So? The guy was acting like he threw it. In fact, I had thought he was the one throwing it at first too. If he didn't want any trouble, he should have just ran away instead of dancing around the place cheering and acting like a victor.

All in all, us fans lose the most, regardless of who was at fault. I'd pay to see Artest play again this season. Sadly, that can't happen.

So, if a co-worker ever taunts you, are you going to attack him/her? I mean, if it was in the heat of the moment and all. Good luck with your future career. Sooner or later you will encounter a bit of taunting in your life.

I think they have more sense than Artest displayed. You don't run out and chase fans around.

HOWEVER, I can understand why he did it. It does not make it right though. Nonetheless, a full season a pretty harsh judgement. I would have taken him out till March or so.

If you have no idea who hit you or what really happened then don't hit anyone at all.

 

One thing in all of this. It takes more of a man to walk away than it does for someone to resort to physical violence. But for some reason people are all caught up in 'street cred'. Ridiculous indeed.

This killed the Pacers chance at even making it out of the first round of the playoffs. I still say that Artest acted out of self-defense. Oh well we have no power to make decisions for the leauge.
