With all the talk about Whiteside's numbers, effectiveness etc, does out strike anyone as odd that he isn't even close to the conversation about all-star snubs? I mean, wouldn't you think that leading the league in blocks, being 3rd in rebounds, 7th in FG%, 9th in PER, and scoring at a pretty respectable rate (60th in total points) would at least have garnered him some sort of consideration?
If the Blazers were 10 games above .500 he would be in. It's hard to justify 2 players from the same sub .500 making the ASG.

The 4th quarter worked, kind of, sort of. I was in and out on the first 3 quarters and it was AWFUL! The 4th quarter was interesting but disjointed and featured too much fouling. It did have guys actually trying though and it will be interesting in years to come if they continue the same intensity as they did for the first time around.
Sounds like the 4th quarter was pretty good. I got to play with my kids for a while so I don't feel too bad about missing it. I'll try to find it online at some point though. It was super hard to be interested in any of the Allstar stuff for me this year, it was going to be way Kobe heavy almost to the point of exploitative of a father, son, husband, friend who had an untimely death and I while I'm certainly sad he died am starting to think they're taking it a bit further than what's actually respectful almost like his death is driving ratings or something, it's awkward for me. -I want to be clear I don't think everyone has "bad intentions" or anything and I definitely think some of it is very sincere, I am empathetic to those who lost someone, it's just a little weird for me personally, but to each their own. If it's helping people then that's good. Also, Dame's groin injury really lowered my desire to watch it too.
