Now I see why Morey is trying to eek as much out of Asik as he can.

Their bench is horrible. 14 points against the Blazers.

Outside of Harden and Howard, that team is very pedestrian. People vastly overrated them, and it's because of the supporting cast around their stars. If Morey doesn't turn Asik into some actual talent, that team won't do shit in the playoffs.

All-Star talent doesn't mean jack squat without chemistry. That scene between Howard and Chandler says everything you need to know about why they lost and why Portland won.

Dwight Howard is such a huge disappointment.

This clearly isn't the Orlando Dwight. Not even close.

He doesn't make anyone better - a total ball stopper.

Like Harden, you aren't contending with that core.

He can be so dominant, but you're right... he doesn't make anyone around him better.

ICYMI: Rockets will trade Asik next Wednesday or Thursday. And do not discount Cleveland/Varejao. Would be perfect fit next to Howard.

Scanning the Houston forum the rumor is Ersan/Udoh/Wolters for Asik and Brewer.

A huge drop off from what their fans wanted for Asik: LMA or Love.

And it wouldn't surprise me if Morey sought out those kind of deals.

Why would Milwaukee want him? Are they planning on trading Sanders?

They're just inheriting the problem Houston has had -- two defensive oriented centers with no post game.

I think Sanders could be on his way out.

That would be a major coup for the Rockets if they were able to pull that off. That deal would instantly elevate their bench to the level of respectable, which would be huge for them.

I don't believe it; why would the teams have to wait to do this trade? There aren't any players in that deal who were signed as free agents in the summer.

I don't know about that. You could be right, but I would not base it on last night. Stotts strategy of not doubling DH and allowing him easy looks at the basket kind of prevented him from passing to open teammates. I thought he looked good last night.

Harden had 7 assists last night. It is the old BRoy argument all over again. It comes down to the offensive game plan.

They both looked pretty good to me. Although I dislike both

I think their current bench is better than you give them credit for:
Lin , Garcia, Casspi, Donatas M, Brooks, Brewer, Asik (or Jones depending on who is starting)

They just play their starters a lot, but they have good players on the bench now.
