Ya, that was pretty spot on, and probably eye opening to people who cheer blindly

Those people tend to keep their eyes wide shut no matter what.

    But yeah. ;)

    Haha.

I was talking about "those" people. Any resemblance to superfan Orion Bailey was purely coincidental.

Ha. I was honestly referring to people like my father in law, who just watches the games and hopes they win. He doesn't look at how the roster is put together. I think most people in here either have, or believe they have a little deeper knowledge of the game.

So very true. All you have to do is not agree and your comment is POOF! GONE! If you try to be really really nice about the way you disagree and give em a big slurp job you might be allowed to have an opinion of your own. After many many slurp jobs you can actually post a comment that might be considered contrary to the writers opinion.

I gave BE a shot for awhile, and when Golliver was there they actually had some insider stuff every now and then. But once he left it became....as has already been pointed out.....a bunch of regurgitated tripe. I'm sure Dave D. is a very nice man and a true fan, but he never uses a word if he can use two dozen. Basically, he uses a tremendous amount of type to say little or nothing. He has no more "access" than we do (okay, so Sly might actually have a little bit, but.....). And yes, the new "writers" are, for the most part, young hacks with limited ceilings. They think that because they are fans of the teams they grew up around elsewhere that they are experts on all things Blazers and Portland. Just a pack of hipster wannabes thinking they can come here and retire on our fandom......

That really ticked me off...we had LAC's number before the injuries happened, we would have beat them regardless, I give the Blazers full credit for their post season play...

That said I agree that we can't stand Pat and keep the roster as is...both free agency and trades are going to be important this summer, and I have a feeling the Blazers are going to be a big player

Maybe that's why he can't get a coaching job.

Rice (insert yawns and homeristic declarations here ) tweeted a few days ago to expect similar results from Pat that we have seen from AC. Pat is apparently a major gym rat.

We all liked to give Ben Golliver shit, but at least he was an actual journalist. The current crop of writers on there are basically buzzfeed clickbait bloggers that have less bball knowledge than most of the old timers here. It really is the soccer mom hipster site BS says it is.

It was only garbage time.....but he looked dramatically better by the end of the season. Which I guess should not be a surprise for a rookie.

Regarding the article.....I thought he stated some obvious things.

1)Use it or lose it (cap space this summer)
    2) We could use another star

Not sure I believe his duplication theory is the issue as much as the simple fact we need an upgrade in at least one of the starting positions. I am not however sure which position that needs to be. I think we just take the best FA possible out of the 3 front court positions and move the current starter to the bench. I am going to guess that is either a PF or Center based on the FA list.

If it is a defensive big, then we start Crabbe at SF. If is is an offensive big, then we start Harkless at the SF spot.

Duplication is only an issue if the 2 players can't play at the same time. The only pair I see that as maybe being the case is Plumlee and Davis.

Not surprising to hear he's a gym rat considering he is a good enough to have the option of playing two professional sports.

I don't get the BE hate on here. It's never pretended to be anything but an article clearinghouse with occasional amateur-written original opinion-based content.
