Can someone please explain what did Gorton do that is so amazing in his short tenure with us? I am not saying he has done a poor job, not at all, but what has he done that is so miraculous that any one of us wouldn't have done?

For two years now we are seeing other teams taking shots at our players, crashing our net. If Dolan was pissed about that, I get it.

Here are a few that were bad:
    - He traded McD and JT Miller for Lundkvist, which the jury is still out as Lundkvist didn't even sign yet. And even if Lundkvist signs, it is still not such an amazing deal. Late 1st round picks for a defenseman who helped Tampa win a cup, and to add insult to injury if I am not mistaken Vancouver got a crappy goalie (irrelvant), 1st and a 3rd round pick out of JT Miller alone. We got useless Howden and okay Libor Hajek who probably is not in our future.
    - Zuccarello traded for practically nothing.

Also, what if Dolan has been asking for some toughness on this team and Gorton has been ignoring Dolan? Dolan is the boss after all. He pays the bills. Gorton trades one guy Lemuix who can fight, not a heavyweight but he was the only guy on this team who truly knows how to fight, and Gorton trades him, again for nothing. Lemuix is not worth much, but keep him until the end of the season at least. And now Wilson incident, clearly Dolan issues a statement that he is not happy with the league, and Gorton along with JD was shying away from the statement, which is a correct and good statement. What if Dolan asked for Mason Gertersen call up and Gorton said no. Wouldn't that warrant a termination? If your boss tells you to do something and you don't do it, wouldn't the boss be correct in firing you? Dolan pays Panarin 12M, and a thug pulled the guy by the hair and threw him head first onto the ice without a helmet with a slew foot, not to mention Buch hit while Buch is down. If this was about this incident and JD with Gorton refused a call up per Dolan's request, then it justifies a firing.

I agree, otherwise firing doesn't make sense. JD and Gorton did not do a bad job, Quinn is a weak coach IMO but the other two proved to me at least better than average.

With that said, I have full confidence in Chris Drury. I was always a big fan of Drury and I think he will do a phenomenal job. Steve Yeserman became a GM of Tampa and has done an incredible job, why Drury can't?

Drury will be fine as a gm. He was very sought after by other teams. Maybe Dolan got pissed because his biggest prized possession on the rangers Panarin got his head bashed in and they did nothing to address it. He is paying breadman almost 12 million a year. He is a businessman first. Hopefully, he can stay out of Drury's way.

Thats a whole lot of what-if's giving the benefit of the doubt to an owner who himself has admitted he knows nothing about the sport and relies almost entirely on the front office personnel for all decisions.

All you have to look at is the history of the two teams under Dolan. Much more losing than winning. Then throws fans and legends out of MSG if they dare insult him.

IDD, both teams would be better off if Dolan sold them

    Who, Kevin Spacey? :)

Remember how I wanted Bennett here for 2 years. Dumb fuck Gorton couldn't get him over here when he easily had enough to do so. 9 games, 5 goals, 13 points, +11. Tough bastard also. These types of misses is why he got canned.

Not unexpectedly JD released a classy statement today. I like Gorton and what he had done and how he has set us up, but I am really pissed about JD. That guy is all class and bleeds Rangers red, white, and blue, and you fire him like this. Dolan should be ashamed of himself. JD should have been here for many many years.
