It's so insufferable when people make a stupid claim then follow it with "sorry, it's true," as if we are all so heart broken to read your opinion. Get over yourself.
Probably the dumbest post I have ever read in my life. There are fans and teams all over the NBA hoping that KP is that stupid. Granted LMA has struggled at times this year. I mean he hit the back board on a 8 foot baseline shot. Mentally he is in a slump. It happens. But for any GM to give up on a talent like LMA this early wouldn't just be foolish, he would be a fucking moron. And KP isn't.
I have no problem with the point being Roy is the only Blazer playing terrific consistently right now. However, Przybilla has been solid too. I think our other guys will pick it up eventually.
I agree LMA is mostly playing like crap this year. I'm not sure why but he is a good player and will snap out of it. He did play a great 2nd qtr a few games ago and which gives you a idea of how good he can be. He is a little soft but not as bad as some of the posters here think. I wouldn't trade LMA unless we got something really good back and a bag of popcorn isn't that good IMO.
I'd be much more concerned if we were seeing these kinds of struggles in March and April -- we all knew (or should have known) that there were going to be some growing pains and adjustment with all of these rookies added to the rotation. But aside from the chicken little nature of some of the posts in this thread, there is a grain of truth in that Greg and Lamarcus look very sub par at times and their consistency needs to get better before you can consider them more than just a work in progress with a lot of upside. I think what it does is underscore that KP really does need to make a consolidation trade for a true veteran, high quality wing who can help take some of the load off Brandon on a nightly basis, which in turn would hopefully allow Greg and Lamarcus to begin flourishing.
heh... but if history is any looking glass into the future, instead he'll opt for starting 5 more threads informing us of the "truth" STOMP
I haven't read this thread word for word, but you have to wonder if Mo Lucas absence has anything to do with Frye and L.A production this season.
Why? Also, LMA, while shooting 3-14, still managed to grab 10 rebounds as a part of a 48-32 rebounding edge. The only reason the game was close was because the Kings went 9-17 from 3 pt land and the Blazers had an off-night shooting. Yet they still DOMINATED the glass, and they still pulled out the win.
I think your over reacting like always. Its fairly obvious the Blazer offense is out of sync and that the players do not know how to get each other shots in every set. How about having some patience, and letting them play together a bit in order to figure things out.
Well if you are looking at it that way, this is true. As Greg is surely not part of our big 3 right now... But LMA is in a slump. There is more to the NBA game than scoring also. He has been playing solid D out there and has been aggressive on that side of the ball and is still scoring 15ppg on the other end and pickin' up some off. boards. I think our "big 3" was more of a projected big 3 in the future. Roy is the only all-star level player on the court right now for sure. The others will pick it up as the season goes on, and hopefully by the end of the year we can have our big 3.
Ha, ha! That's exactly what I was thinking as I read through the posts. If the team steamrolls two games in a row, everyone thinks we'll beat the Lakers and be champs. If the team struggles two games in a row, everyone thinks our guys are over-rated. Repping you as soon as I hit the submit button.
I have faith that Aldridge will get out of this slump and continue to improve. He's gotten stronger each year and will be even better next year. The thread comparing him to Zach is ridiculous and I'm a fan of Zach- eventually Aldridge should be near all-star level at both sides of the court.
The amazing part is that we're near the top in offensive efficiency, even while struggling in offensive sets. If we start nailing offensive sets, and get better/closer/more open shots, we could be scary. (This depends on how good Nate's offensive sets are, of course)
Did you guys read the LA slump blog today? http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2008/11/lamarcus_aldridges_puzzling_sl.html 15 games into the season and he hasn't found his offensive scoring yet? Better get it before the All-star break.
"This is part of the development," McMillan said. "You keep working on it. It's not that you wait it out, it's not that I'm nervous, it's part of the growth of this team and these guys learning how to play. This is Year 2 of him ... learning to make decisions. But we know what he is capable of doing." Is LA going through a sophomore jinx.
