Georgia Tech stuns No. 24 Pitt 26-21 in Key's coaching debut

Brent Key held the ball given to him by his new boss and pointed to the gold ''GT'' logo on it, a symbol the former Georgia Tech lineman turned interim head coach tasked with holding his alma mater's struggling program together has held close for a quarter century and counting.

''That means everything to me,'' Key said, tapping the embossed letters for effect.

Sure looked like it, for both Key and the group he's now suddenly in charge of leading.

Five days after Geoff Collins was fired four games into his fourth season, the Yellow Jackets responded with a stunning 26-21 victory over No. 24 Pittsburgh on Saturday night that was emphatic as it was improbable.

No. 5 Clemson tops No. 10 NC State 30-20 in ACC showdown

DJ Uiagalelei played well as he has all season to power No. 5 Clemson's offense. The Tigers' defense finally looked like the stellar group it was projected to be.

The result was Clemson's most complete game of the season: a 30-20 win over 10th-ranked North Carolina State on Saturday night.

Clemson breaks it open in 2nd half, tops Boston College 31-3

Uiagalelei broke free up the middle for 40 yards before he tripped himself up and crashed to the turf - 13 yards short of the end zone.

No matter, the Clemson quarterback finished the job with his arm on the next play.

''I thought for a second I'd be gone,'' Uiagalelei said after leading No. 5 Clemson to a 31-3 victory over Boston College on Saturday night. ''And then reality hit.''

Boykin, defense help No. 14 NC State rally past FSU 19-17

North Carolina State's offense sputtered, then lost the preseason Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year while facing a second-half deficit.

For Devan Boykin, that meant the defense would have to drive the 14th-ranked Wolfpack to its comeback Saturday night.

''After halftime,'' he said, ''we knew that the game was going to be on us.''

Boykin picked off Jordan Travis' pass in the end zone with 38 seconds left, lifting N.C. State past Florida State 19-17 despite losing quarterback Devin Leary to injury.

Morris, No. 24 Wolfpack rally past Hokies for 22-21 win

For the second straight home game, North Carolina State found itself down double figures after halftime. And just as before, the 24th-ranked Wolfpack responded with grit and resilience.

First-year quarterback MJ Morris threw for three second-half touchdowns to help N.C. State rally from 18 points down in the third quarter to beat Virginia Tech 22-21 on Thursday night.

Pitt hands No. 22 Syracuse 3rd straight loss in 19-9 victory

PITTSBURGH (AP) Like the rest of their teammates, Rodney Hammond and C'Bo Flemister have sat and watched Israel Abanikanda carry Pittsburgh's offense for most of a wildly uneven season.

The ACC's leading rusher sidelined by an injury before Saturday's visit from No. 22 Syracuse, Hammond and Flemister were more than happy to pick up the slack for a program that calls itself ''RB U.''

Hammond ran for a career-high 124 yards and a touchdown, and Flemister added 43 yards and his first score with the Panthers as Pitt shut down the Orange in a 19-9 victory to end a two-game losing streak

BC throws TD pass with 14 seconds left, edges No. 17 NC St

Making his second career start, Emmett Morehead hadn't gotten much practice time directing a two-minute offense for Boston College.

He came through big time when it really counted.

Morehead threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Joseph Griffin Jr. with 14 seconds left and the Eagles rallied past No. 17 North Carolina State 21-20 Saturday, their first win over a Top 25 team in eight years.

No. 9 Clemson tops Miami 40-10 for 40th straight at home

DJ Uiagalelei understood entering the season there'd be plenty of doubters ready to count out Clemson getting back on top in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Instead, the ninth-ranked Tigers finished off a perfect regular-season conference run with a 40-10 victory over Miami on Saturday.

Finley leads N.C. State past No. 18 UNC in 2OT in 1st start

Devin Carter and two teammates took a North Carolina State flag and planted it at rival North Carolina's midfield logo amid a wild celebration.

The Wolfpack spiked weeks of frustration with a signature road win to end the regular season.

''It was just spur of the moment,'' Carter said. ''It was amazing to go out there like that. It's joy.''

Ben Finley threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns in his first career start, and N.C. State beat Drake Maye and No. 18 North Carolina 30-27 on Friday when Noah Burnette duck-hooked a 35-yard field goal try in the second overtime.
