I actually like the Rockets franchise. I suppose it stems from the fact that I hate the L*kers so much and they played them well in the 80s. And of course, I was thrilled to see Clyde finally get his ring as second banana. I have always liked their inside-out play. I think Harden is a real talent, but his flopping diminishes him in my eyes. I don't like Howard, but I do like that he screwed the L*kers. Beverley pisses me off, but I think I'd love the kid if he were a Blazer. Anyway, I tend to root for laundry, so if they beat us this series, they'll have my passing interest. If you lose, it's always nice to say you lost to the eventual champions. It's too bad they were so insecure about my posts over at ClutchFans that they decided to censor my posts. I really do like getting the view from the other side.
Tonight's game is going to be nothing but uncensored gratuitous scoring porn by the Blazers...having their way with the hole and stuffing that ball good. Houston will be reduced to nothing but fluffers for the flick....I doubt they even make the credits at the end.
yeah I dont want to see them get all excited and shoot off too quick...take it slow and really work it around the outside...maybe tease them a bit going in then back out and back in again
I don't blame the Houston fans for whining over the officiating...that's a time-honored fan's right and we've certainly done our share around here. The new policy of the NBA of acknowledging bad calls on just certain plays does nothing but feed this dynamic of "the stupid officials cost us the game". The reality is that we all know that there are blown calls both ways every single game. Howard wouldn't have even been in the game for the "bad call" if Salvatore hadn't had his head up his butt when Dwight threw the elbow into Rolo's chest just minutes earlier. All of that said, the OP is right. Houston lost this game because they simply didn't take care of business when they had the double-digit lead with less than 5 minutes to play. Howard's ineptitude at the FT line cost them big and Harden couldn't hit the big shots. Hopefully, all of that continues tonight.
Talk about oversimplification. The LA Dodgers' fan base, for example, is loaded with people that beat and murder people from opposing teams' fan bases.
Agreed, I can't imagine our board being any less bitchy and whiny if we had the situation reversed but the bottom line is if they'd made their free throws, if Harden had hit that shot at the end, etc. they would have won. There was time for them to get the last shot off and Harden choked.
