I would still really expect that ‘24 1st. What I hate most is Riley getting him for 2 1sts is that the Heat get their way. But that’s a pretty good package all things considered. I wish the Heat had picked someone who was a better fit for the team than Jaquez, but I would be excited about Jovic.
Scoot can but Chris Paul couldn't? Ayton's performance is up to him and his attitude. Would rather be worse this year and end up with a pick high enough to get Alexandre Sarr or another top-level prospect. Much higher upside for the future.
Not gonna happen. Ayton is good and tall. That's not what we do here. Also, it would make me happy and the universe has decided that's just not a thing anymore.
Not sure what the next draft has to do with Ayton. I don't think Ayton is going to lead teenagers to the playoffs or anything. We will lose plenty next season even with Ayton. I'd imagine the idea with Ayton here is to have the center position not be a complete disaster which is bad for Scoot/Sharpe development. Then in a few years hopefully we've added some pieces to make a run at winning while Ayton is still in his prime.
If Ayton is in the trade it doesn't make sense to have Herro go there - Suns already have Booker and Beal. They need bigs, defense, depth, and cost savings. I can see where Herro makes sense going to the Hornets - but they don't really have the pieces the Suns would need. So might need a 5th team involved.
I would rather keep Simons if that's the case. It goes back to my original point about Ayton. Was completely against it (especially when people here were mentioning trading Ant for him), then came around to it when I saw how crap a Miami deal would be. I'm back to not wanting Ayton if it's going to take Ant, thanks.
Yeah I think if Ayton is coming to Portland it has to be a 4 or 5 team deal because Phoenix doesn't need Herro. Here is an idea;
Could have Jacquez go to the Hornets or Spurs instead if they aren't getting enough in this deal. If Miami wont include Martin perhaps Jaquez can take his place for the Hornets.
I don't understand why the Phoenix Suns, who have seven bazillion high volume wings and ONE big man would trade the one big man.
apparently, "droppingdimes20", the anonymous person from twitter who was right about quite a few things this summer, said: "its ayton for nurk"
That would be great. Bring in Ayton and Giannis. Dame Sharpe Giannis Grant Ayton Not sure how we match salary on Giannis, but I'm sure we can get some blackmail on somebody in this day and age of ransomware...
if im not mistaken, mediocre man is someone who has inside info about our team and he created this thread and we have droppingdimes20 saying ayton to pdx is possible, so where theres smoke... we know phx is not high on ayton, especially on that salary and im not sure ayton is gonna like being 4th option behind kd, book & beal, nurk is cheaper and more suited to that role
I like this trade but I think one little change makes it work a lot better. This puts us in the tax and we know the team isn't doing that for a rebuild. This also leaves the Suns depleted in the post. So vet big Khem Birch on the Suns instead of on our team. I like Moses, possibly Reath and Badji competing form minutes behind Ayton.
Nurkic's 16.75M salary can match up to 22M in salary. Ayton's salary is 10.4M OVER that amount. Portland can't even add Little and make it a legal trade because that would put them over the tax meaning the 125% rule applied it would have to be a multi-team deal to be legal, unless it was ancillary to a Lillard trade and folded in for CBA purposes
