The only thing more depressing than Kevin Durant is seeing highlights of Greg Oden in a Blazer uni. He was just so big and strong. Fuck.
Does anyone know how tall Greg Oden was at 13? A lot of guys (myself included) peak height-wise in their early teens. At his age, I was 6'2" with doctors telling me I could grow to seven feet... I only grew up to be a solid 6'4" barefoot, and all of the talk from my AAU coaches back then really gave me too big of a head... Point is, for all we know, this kid could wind up being a 6'7" HS Sr. nobody or a 7'2" freak... knowing both how tall Oden was at that age and which parent they share would probably tell us a lot more than his current height... knowing how good of an actually basketball player he is will tell us the most though... BTW - Apparently Jarnell Stokes' little brother is already 6'7" in 8th grade and reportedly a lot better basketball player than Stokes was at that age... Stokes isn't quite the prospect that Oden was, but still, if he came out this year he'd be a late first round pick, and his biggest problem is being undersized, so hearing that his little brother is almost his height in 8th grade and also more skilled than he was is bigger news to me than knowing that Oden's half-brother is tall... And well, can't talk about Isaiah Stokes (Jarnell's little brother) without posting this viral pic from a Jr HS football game... still gets a laugh outta me -
Its so dramatic that it looks fake. Crazy. Can you imagine as an eighth grader running for your life?
Well he’s 13. Just watching him he’s gonna have to develope a lot, not very fluid. He actually reminds me of GO in that way. I feel like today’s game is more for guys that have guard type bodies and than hit a growth spurt and can maintain the guard skill set at like 6’8 or higher. Almost all giant 13 year olds are awkward though...
