Kait is getting back to her old ways. Filling the stat line in the championship game against a VERY tough Kennewick team on Sunday. Lost by 1 in double overtime. It was a heck of a game, but somebody had to lose. We can't say enough how incredibly proud we are of her overcoming the physical and mental challenges of recovery from such a devastating injury, all while keeping her 4.0 GPA with a heavy load of AP classes. We aren't usually about stats, but I've always loved how efficient she is on the court. 21pts (6-8 fg | 2-3 3pt | 7-8 ft) 8 assists 6 rebs 2 stls 1 turnover Note: We have been focusing on getting clips of Kait since she lost her opportunity last summer and we want to get as much out there for college coaches as possible. Alixe and Liv have been killing it as well. We'll add some of their clips soon.
Al has been absolutely killing it this summer. She just goes to work and controls what she can control. The hard work is really starting to pay off!
Made a change to a new club this fall. Practices right here in Oregon City and they are all on the same team playing together. They absolutely LOVE their new Coach, Pat Vialva (and Coach Earl, too) with NW Legends. It's Kaitlen's senior year and more than just about anything, she wants to play with her younger sisters. I'm so glad it's working out for them. Uniforms came in the wrong size and wrong color, but we'll get that fixed in the next couple weeks. Here is a clip my wife made from their 3rd and 4th games yesterday (5th and 6th of the weekend, and the team's first tournament together). It all came together and started clicking as a team in the 5th and 6th games. Kaitlen #3 Alixe #10 Olivia #2
Will do. With only one team to follow now we'll hopefully have more time to review and edit video, and we'll have 1/3 as much video to review...
Throwback of Liv in 7th grade hitting a couple NBA 3s at the Rose Garden (she was 2 of 3 from deep that game).
It's been a whirlwind the last couple weeks for Kait, taking official visits to 3 schools, all who seem interested. She's incredibly late in the recruiting game after the injury robbed her of her incoming Junior summer (incoming Junior summer is prime college recruiting time for basketball players), and she was still working her way back this last summer entering her Senior season. So it took us a while to get video to send to coaches. They all seem very interested, but she got an official offer from Lewis & Clark! We're incredibly proud of her!
Hell yeah bro! What an exciting time for her and your whole family I'm sure. To have "expert" recruiters and coaches tell her how much they love her and her game....she must be SO excited during this process. Very rewarding for all her hard work
Thanks! It has been, for sure. It's been a huge education for us, since we've never gone through it before. I'm sure we're making mistakes right and left. But, as the eldest, she's used to it. I'm sure we'll be better with the other two...
It just occurred to me... Pacific University's logo is a dog as well... a Boxer. But it has an asian dragon flair to it... so it's kind of a boxer dragon. There was a cool backstory too. They told us on the tour. I'd love to share, but I'm sure I'd screw it up...
The Dallas Cowboys held their first training camp at Pacific University. So the first time the Cowboys took the field was in Oregon. https://www.oregonlive.com/hillsboroargus/2010/07/dallas_cowboys_first_ride_50_y.html
