Everything you work with your right, work with your left just as much. Simple as that. The fact that his left is a weakness is the biggest red flag, IMO. Speaks to questionable training or questionable desire. Hopefully it was questionable training (trainers just happy to be there and didn't want to call him out) and he just hadn't been put in a tough enough situation to really need the left yet.
kaitlencarns2024 Kait is proving that, even after the injury and year long recovery, the team needs her on the floor to be most effective. Our starting post is sidelined with injury. So Kait (as the only player who knows all the plays at all of the positions) was forced to play post vs Tigard. Smallest and lightest player on the team. Smallest player on the court. 10pts, 10reb at halftime. Didn't play the 4th quarter since the game was in hand. Finished with 16pts and 12rebs in 3 quarters. I don't have clips of this game yet, but I'll share them when I do. In the prior game (vs Lakeridge, clips above) she had a VPS of 16.5. A VPS of 1.0 is considered an average game. A VPS of 2.0 is considered a great game. Incredible. alixecarns2026 Al has been killing it. Leading her team and hitting shots like crazy. Knocking down 3-5 threes per game. While doing all the little things that hold an offense and defense together. Killing it. liviecarns2027 Liv has forced them to move her up from the freshman team to JV, and has immediately stepped into a leadership role on the team. Has brought them back from trailing several games, hit some game winners, and routinely leads the team in points and assists. Finished with 24pts last game, and 18 in the prior game. Definitely leading scorer and ball handler on JV since being moved up. We're so proud of our girls for dealing with some pretty challenging obstacles, keeping their heads up, and figuring out how to overcome.
OC finished the season 3rd in the Three Rivers League. Losing several games we should have won. We feel we're a much better team than that. But maybe they are starting to figure it out... Playoffs have started and all 3 Carns Girls made the roster! Liv got her first varsity action in the first playoff game and looked like one of the best players on the court. Pushing the tempo and blowing through the press as the PG, and hitting a nice floater and a pull up 3 to help maintain the lead. Started the season on JV2, now running with her sisters on varsity in the playoffs. Not bad, Freshman. Alixe has been bringing it every night and has been one of the most explosive players over the last couple weeks. She's worked her way up in the rotation and is starting to get regular varsity minutes. Had 11pts in about a 2 minute stretch on senior night, and a couple real nice finishes against South Salem in the first round of the playoffs. Really coming into her own as a sophomore. Kaitlen has been incredible. She works so hard and controls the game even when she's not scoring. She is first or second on the team in nearly every statistical category, and the few she's not first or second in she's third. Scoring, rebounding, assists, steals... she does it all. Which is why she leads the team in VPS nearly every night and is tops for the season. Led the team in scoring in the first round win in a balanced attack and in limited minutes. Second Round is tonight at Willamette. The team who knocked us out last season. Let's get some revenge!
Thanks for the update brother! Wishing them the best of luck…..I trust me when I say this…..I NEVER wish teams luck if they aren’t from the inner city. Hope they kill it!
Thanks! We've thanked the powers that be pretty much daily since they were born for that exact thing.
Not quite a full ride, but so incredibly close that it doesn't matter. And we're only 20 minutes away so she can live at home her freshman year and decide if she wants to live on campus as a sophomore or just keep living at home. Thank goodness she's an incredible student. That was key.
Fantastic and props to and your wife for raising great kids! Nice looking family! My next door neighbors daughter Brianne Meharry was on those potent OC teams and ended up at UO.
