I guess that depends on how you determine "best".

Name one better. Dawkins is widely considered the best Free Safety in the league. Michael Lewis played great last year, and will only get better. They are both capable of blitzing and covering. Great fit in Jim Johnson's defense.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but it is argumentative. There are a few good duos, and I can look at my own team for one. Woodson is aging, but he teams with Williams to cover and blitz in the same way.

I understand that there were injury issues in the Eagles secondary last year that made it underachieve. However, I think you would agree that the Eagles front 7 provided a better pass rush and talent than the Cowboys had. That said, I can't imagine you would say that the Eagles corners were that much worse than a Dallas rookie (Terrance Newman) on one side and a rotation of three including a player they cut (Ross), a free agent they didn't want to re-sign (Edwards) and a second year small college player (Hunter). So, safety is all that is left to compare.

Again, understanding that injuries took a toll on the Eagles, they still allowed a dramatically higher completion rate and many more passing yards per game than the Cowboys did. That is impressive given the fact that the safeties played out of position trying to make up for a lack of pass rush. They did end the year with a top defense, so I have to give credit somewhere.

Again, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you. If I had my choice, I would probably take the Eagles tandem, only because Woodson is much older, so the future doesn't look as good. However, I would have to say that the Dallas tandem performed just as well in the last 2 years.

I agree, Roy Williams is a stud. Woodson however has his best year behind him.

Eagles lost 4 defensive linemen for the year last year. They had total of 7.5 sacks from the DE position. Also, Bobby Taylor missed like 10 games, and Troy Vincent missed 5 games, and Dawkins missed 8 games. Emmons was out for the playoffs. The defense was decimated. Still they maneged to rank 7th in the NFL in points allowed (reason why I think Kim Johnson is second to none as a D-coordinator).

Rodney Harrison and Eugene Wilson. They were a huge reason we one the super bowl and for wilson to take on a new position in week two he has never played before as a rookie and was able to play it at a championship level says alot about this kids talant. Personally I think Dallas' safety tandem is the best but I'd take the pats and ravens safties's over Dawkins and Lewis as well.
