I guess my point was is that if he is that predictable, why aren't teams stopping him. If he is a one trick pony who scores alot, you would think opposing teams would know what he is going to do and shut it down.

Had Kevin Love been healthy there is no way Aldridge would have been an All-Star this year. He barely made it last year.

And don't bring up the "1 of X players to average 20/8" -- His numbers are inflated due to the near 40 MPG.

IMHO it's time to move on from the LMA era.

Hahahaha! Well I was referring to the coaches and players in the NBA. i did play against an NBA player once at my local park. His name was J.R. Rider and he made me his bitch. He was playing for Antelope Valley College at the time.

That would have been the case if Aldridge was voted in as a wild card. But he wasn't and it was clear the NBA coaches voted for Aldridge over Lee.

There was no market for Hickson in free agency last summer because of his problems in Sacramento and the small sample size of his play in meaningless games in Portland last year. There was no market for him at the deadline because the Blazers were insistant that any deal for him not screw up their cap space for this summer. Additionally, any deal would have had to be approved by Hickson. None of that means that there won't be a strong market for him this summer after teams have seen him play so well for the Blazers all year. The Blazers should be able to work a sign-and-trade with Hickson and a new team and, hopefully, avoid losing him for nothing.

    LOL. Hardly.

Vince Carter had better stats than Larry Bird all-time in the All-star games. Does that mean Carter was better than Bird?

What Aldridge does on a chucking game filled with perimeter circus clowns doesn't qualify how good a player is. It's how that player got there. His production during the regular season warrants his invitation to the all-star game.

Hickson has veto power, and the list of teams he was willing to join was very short. There was interest by the teams on that list, but not enough to make a deal happen. Without that power, Hickson would have half a dozen teams bidding for his services...

There are a lot of arguments

    Draft position
    Contract
    Demand from other teams
    Respect from opposing defenses
NBA rank of PF's (Aldridge is routinely ranked in the top 3, where Hickson usually doesn't come close to the top 20)

I think you are arguing just to argue, and that makes me sad

I don't understand your angle here buddy. I said Aldridge is an all-star, then you say "how was his stats". Then i just explained an NBA legend had worse stats than the clown Carter.

I am explaining that getting to the all-star game, being the "coaches" votes is based on your regular season production. What you do at the all-star game is a different story. It's pretty obvious that Aldridge wasn't even used his first year, when the coach played his players (Westbrook and Durant) for over 30 minutes. The second go around, Aldridge was put in with Westbrook. Westbrook is a ball hog and if you watched the game; he wasn't passing to anyone.

Don't forget Dirk! If he hadn't been injured the first half of the season then LMA making the team becomes even less likely. But regardless, being an "all-star" doesn't impress me. It's a meaningless award and is based almost entirely on reputation - some reputations are deserved and some aren't.

Try it from an efficiency standpoint. Do you think he is an efficient scorer?

You are talking about the fan vote. You know the fans that voted Yao as a starter over Shaq. But the coach's vote holds more weight. They actually coach against these players. They have a better understanding of the true value of a player.
