They are hedging. It's not even subtle. Pelton "I picked the Blazers for 41 wins, I feel there’s almost no chance of them winning exactly 41, I think they either win 44-45 and make the play offs, or it’s scenario where they are out of the playoffs race a little bit and they end up winning 38-39, and picking 11." Even since that Pelton has move his 41 wins to 44. Portland will get respect when they take it. Wes gets it, "You gotta take respect", and I think the Blazers all get it too.

Perception is in the eyes of the beholder, but "crying" and "soccer mom" are inflammatory in my opinion, especially on THE HOME OF THE PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS forum. So, unless people are looking to get a rise out of others, maybe it would be cool to just say what you feel the Blazers need to do to deserve more respect, or not respond. Just a suggestion, take it or leave it. ;)

I listen to a few podcasts everyday and teams get overlooked all the time. With the starters they don't catch our games all the time and most of the podcasts I listen to are (cbs eye on basketball, nba lockdown, the starters) are all recorded early in the day so stuff like player of the week and suspensions weren't announced before they were recorded. Add into it that no one that isn't a Blazer fan wants to really hear about us until we have something either awesome or horrible to talk about. Our win streak is great but the spurs have the same type going and I also hear little talk about them except by Bowen.
All those podcasts have had a segment on us last week but we aren't everyday in-depth discussion worthy if your a big podcast.

I'll respond to whatever the hell I like, and I'll say it however I like, short of ad hominem attacks.

You can take that or leave that.

You're can't have it both ways. You tell me how I should be posting and what I should be responding to and then try to run and claim the high ground when I respond directly to you. Try harder.

It's a reading comprehension disconnect. So, let's try again:

If you are going to post things that are inflammatory toward other Blazer fans, then expect that other Blazer fans will respond in kind. And "crying wolf" is an extremely pathetic response when accusing someone of "crying" or other inflammatory statements to begin with. No one, myself included, is telling you to do anything. Cause and effect is a funny phenomenon, but entirely predictable in this instance. If you are aware that calling Blazer fans "soccer mom" or accusing them of "crying" for stating their opinion is inflammatory, you can easily avoid these diatribes entirely, and get back to talking about basketball. Perhaps it just required some education on the matter. Again, entirely your choice. ;)

Portland will get respect when they prove something. Perhaps a list of things they need to do, or setting some achievement marks looking forward would help clarify for Blazer fans what is required to gain respect, and when we should expect to see it from a National media.

Bill is def biased but I can respect his opinions because he understands the history of the game better than most national writers. His big book of basketball is a fantastic toilet book.

These guys with their high post counts are just mad all us newbs flooded the boards with wit, charm, quality analyses, and humor. If they had known all these new posters would cause them to raise their feathers perhaps they would have fought harder to keep this place separate from blazers corporate.

All that said ill guarantees after we hoist the trophy this year the only thing in the media will be who gets Wiggins, my guess is Lakers.

Ummmm no. I like the newbies, as long as they wear their hello kitty backpacks. And as far as Nik is concerned... He is a quality poster with more of a "realistic" approach. I am a homer. We need all takes to make a forum roll and be interesting. If this place is filled with rainbows and daisies, it would be pretty fucking boring. If it was filled with a bunch of realistic, same...

I doubt Nik is pissy at the newcomer crowd. I bet he enjoys it.

Hahahaha well said, although, like Mags said, in short we all enjoy the added blessings that all of your collective wisdom shine upon us.

Exactly. No one will care when we win the first. We have to win back to back to get a rise out of anyone.

The media and the cynical ass holes on the board will criticize us for not tanking, and write off our championship as a fluke and a benefit of all the good teams tanking. That's ok, we can after party in rip city without them.

I don't give a rats ass who thinks what. If we win a title, we earned it. It's not a short season, the west is strong and our team is stacked.
