Interesting note: Batum actually has a better WS/48 than Kobe. I wonder if Batum is playing as much as he should be?
Kobe is definitely starting to show his age. He's still a great player, but clearly past his prime when he was playing like an all-time great. And yes, Nic should be playing more. On a positive note, he is averaging 35.9 MPG in March. Which is what he should have been averaging in December, January and February, too. On a negative note, the Blazers are 0 for March. So, Nic's increased minutes aren't helping them win, it's just boosting his stats and value, making it more likely that some GM will throw a huge contract offer at him this summer. BNM
depending on a replacement for wallace at the 3, I am loving batum at the 2. A lot of times, the issue of a bigger guy at the 2 is their D slipping, but he covers 1-3, so that isn't an issue. I think long term, it should help with our rebounding, because Batum's ability to crash the boards from the 2 spot is better served than him boxing guys out from the 3 spot.
