Denny, the more you post, the less it looks like you actually watch the games.

Lol that's actually a good point. There really is only a handful of solid SFs out there

I wonder if Noah will follow Thibs out the door. It strikes me that if anyone is loyal to him it would be Noah.

Seems to me that Chicago has plenty of SF's with Dunleavy, Snell and McDermott. Why do they want another one that comes with a 11 million salary?

Because those are all 6th men at best. And the best of the bunch is a free agent. Not to say I would do the deal....

Maybe. Too soon to know about McDermott. he was hampered by an injury last year, then never really was able to get in Thib's rotation. If his knee is 100% he could be the heir apparent at that position. They dealt 5 pics to get him so it seems like the gM likes him.

    Nah.

I don't think the Bulls care to make trades. They rarely do. Nobody on the roster was acquired via trade. No matter how good you and I think Batum is, they think they can do no wrong in their draft picking.

Who had a better rookie season: McDermott or Adam Morrison?

McDermott came to the team touted as a 4 year college guy ready to contribute to the rotation. Thibs put him in the 2nd unit in the early going and the 2nd unit got their asses handed to them night in and night out. It wasn't pretty. It's not like he wasn't given the chance to win the job - he just didn't show he is an NBA player. Yet.

Yet being the key word. Like I said it is early. I think there are some similarities between CJ and McDermott. Both big time scorers in college, both 4 year guys, and both injured their rookie year. It takes time for these guys, even 4 year guys in college. Unless he is extremely unathletic , he should be just fine. He was not exactly Thibs type of guy IMO.

He is a SF/PF tweeter. Played PF in college. Too small to play PF in the NBA, and not quick enough to hang with, or beat, SFs. He was the man in college, but not the best player on any NBA team - like Morrison.

He's supposed to have NBA 3 point range, but shot .317. For every game that gave me some hope, he had 10 where he looked like a bust.

He was touted as NBA ready. Sure to be a contributing member of the rotation right away.

The SF situation was so bad that Thibs played PF Mirotic a lot at SF.

Chicago was the wrong team for Dougie McBuckets. I really thought the Lakers or Kings would've been better for him.

Well I hope you are right. I hope he sucks and you guys gave all those picks for nothing. But he looked good enough in preseason that there should be at least some hope that he can be a Wally Szczerbiak type player. He has a quick release and will adjust to the NBA 3 pt range.

Thibs designed plays to get him shots. I saw him miss so many wide open and uncontested threes...

Lonny Baxter won summer league MVP and was too small and slow to make it as an NBA player.

Tony Snell dominated this past summer.

It's not exactly preseason, but against a lot of the same guys.

I hope I'm wrong. I already am in the sense I expected him to be a rare unicorn like player. An obvious star from his first NBA game...

Funny. Those highlights are from 5 regular season games. My gut was 1 in 10 games were promising. Looks like 5 in 36. Pretty close.

You can see in the video Thibs' excellent plays.

    Mirotic, yes.

    The 30 y/o Gibson, no.
