It's just way too early for me to start thinking Natty. I thought last year's team was good and then we lost to USC. I'll be psyched if we win the PAC12 again and go to the Rose Bowl. That's pretty damn good for what I consider a rebuilding year of sorts.

Agreed. I still see us as a 1 loss team and with our strength of schedule that knocks us out. Even if we go undefeated our SOS is still going to be a problem if there are more than 2 teams without a loss.

I suspect SC will pass us, and unless we finish undefeated, we have a very slim chance of getting back to the Championship. I'm scared of USC. I think they have the talent and the speed to match up with us. 4 out of our last six games will be on the road. Winning at SC will be hard. Winning against Cal is always tough, and even the OSU game could be a challenge being at Reser. I will be surprised if we make it out of the final six games without a loss, and if I've learned anything about the BCS, it's that we simply can't lose. Only the SEC teams can lose once or even twice but still get in the Natty.

SEC losing Twice and getting to the Natty nowadays? Doubt it. Doesn't happen anymore, pollsters are tired of the dirty south.

There wouldn't be a two loss team simply because the SEC is dominating the top of the polls. Three out of the top five are SEC schools and that number could grow if LSU pulls it's head out of its ass or Georgia recovers from that loss last weekend.

Then it would be a case of cannalibalism, then a Pac-12/Notre Dame/Big 12 undefeated could make a case.

It's more USC on the road with a freshman QB that concerns me. I have a hunch that we're only showing parts of the playbook and will really unleash at USC. I expect to see DAT and Colt get more touches. I think we will really play to our strengths. They have so much talent and depth that injuries are meaningless to them. It'll be a great game.

I have been worried about USC since before the season started. They are the biggest threat to our season.

All we need is a solid pass rush and USC will bend over like wet paper. Stanford did it. And our secondary has improved since then.

That's a real good point. Barkley is an A+ passer when not pressured and a D passer when pressured.

Leave IEO and Patterson and Jackson to Woods and Lee(the former hasn't had as much production) and the pass rush will murder Barkley.

    Rose Bowl:
Oregon State(10-1) vs Notre Dame(9-2). Riley manages to get the At-Large over 8-3 USC and ASU and goes to Pasadena against a poweful Irish team. Beavers pull away 14-7 in a defensive struggle.

    Sugar Bowl:
Alabama(11-1) vs Oklahoma(10-1). Saban drops the SEC title game but still gets a good At-Large bid against the Big 12 runner up Oklahoma. Roll Tide roll, 30-17.

    Fiesta Bowl:
K-State(10-1) vs Clemson(10-1). Oh hey, Tigers vs Optimus Klein. Klein gets the win 27-20.

    Orange Bowl:
Florida State(11-1) vs Rutgers(12-0). Rutgets proves that they could compete with the best in the nation, defeating the Seminoles 24-20. Every time a BCS buster has entered the scene, except for Hawaii(they played Georgia), they have beaten their opponent and proved that the Have-Nots can be as good as the Have's.

    Cotton Bowl:
    LSU(9-2) vs Texas Tech(9-2)
Les Miles bumbles in and out of the Sugar Bowl and lose to the Red Raiders 30-17.

    BCS Title Game:
    Oregon vs Florida. Both undefeated.

    Oregon gets the wind: 42-27.

It figures that Notre Dame would get to play in TWO bowl games!

    Sugar Bowl:
Alabama(11-1) vs Oklahoma(10-1). Saban loses to A&M upset by Auburn but wins the SEC and they play against the Big 12 runner up Oklahoma. Roll Tide roll, 30-17.

    Fiesta Bowl:
K-State(10-1) vs Clemson(10-1). Oh hey, Tigers vs Optimus Klein. Klein gets the win 27-20.

    Orange Bowl:
Florida State(11-1) vs Lousville(12-0).

Les Miles bumbles in and out of the Sugar Bowl and lose to the Mountaineers 27-20.

    BCS Title Game:

ND has a good defense, no denying that. But their offense up against Oregon's D? P-shaw~. Ducks and Irish equal in the first half but wear them down. 35-21.

I don't see the Irish in the championship. Do they have the SOS to get in?

Considering they beat Oklahoma, Stanford, Michigan, and MSU(all ranked, well, some of them ranked) yes. And they have a winnable USC on their plate.

How could the Beavs be 10-1 if Oregon is in the BCS title game?

Who do you have KSU losing to? And Oklahoma has 2 losses already. And they play WVU later, so one of those teams will have 3 losses and won't be in a BCS bowl.
