^ This deserves its own thread. I agree. I thought he'd get 1 more year after this to turn things around.
That's who my coworker has been saying would be the next coach a month or so ago. I could see it. It would be hilarious if we somehow got Chip.
I don't think Chip could turn your program around in less than a couple years. They'd have to be patient. And the zone read isn't new anymore... so I'm not really sure how his offense would do after... what.... 5 years away from CFB?
Yeah i don't disagree. It would be interesting seeing Chip try. He would be the biggest name hire we have had since Ericksen. Which would spark some excitement. I don't see it happening though. We arent a big enough team for him. It would have to solely be because of the challenge it would present to him. Chip always seemed to talk nicely about OSU and Riley comparitvely to the other Pac 12 schools.
Jonathan Smith is not the answer, at least as HC. That cake needs to stay in the oven a couple more years.
Anderson let his ego take over in WI. Sounded like he did not like Alvarez interfering. But he had a good gig going there. Should not have left. Camp Randall is a lot easier to recruit to.....for some reason. I am sure he did not see the light at the end of the tunnel in Corvallis with his current recruiting class. He could have turned it around but it would have taken several years.
This is going to be an endless cycle at OSU unless they find somebody who can actually recruit major talent to the school.
You guys could always hire Mark Helfrich..... but you'd also need to find another Marcus Mariota to carry him.
WSU does a pretty good job at maximizing booster support and building facilities with limited means. Maybe the Beavss shouldn't complain until they demand better results of the AD. You want better then go get better.
