Kobe handled it much better than Raja did, but I sure hope Phil Jackson didn't say that to him, because I would lose respect for him.</div> Kobe didn't complain to the media and say he would do it again, and Kobe didn't closeline TT. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I overreacted on the play." - Raja Bell "Would you have done anything differently?" - Dan Patrick "No, I would have done it again." - Raja Bell</div> Raja Bell seriously has no class.... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't think Lakers fans have any room for talking trash about other players/teams with regards to any percieved lack of class. Thats what gives Raja no class. Also I think Bell is kind of overexaggerating. Barely can open his jaw?

You're right unbeliever ultimately it's the responsibility of the officials to keep the game under control and clean. They failed in this regard, and it's lead to some excessive fouls and now a suspension Phoenix really couldn't afford. Still it doesn't excuse Raja Bell from receiving his suspension. The part that Suns fans should really be pissed about was the timing of it all. The Suns had a commanding lead and all the momentum shifting back to them, and then Raja Bell goes and blows it because he's upset he's not getting the same calls superstars get.

I just think the refs should have already issued a suspension or at least called more fouls earlier on to cool things down. Instead they let it get out of control. I'm hoping that's what was taken into consideration, resulting in a 1 game instead of a 2 game suspension for Bell. I just can't say enough that for anyone who is getting overly worked up about this, they need to look at the context in which it happened. And really, can someone explain to me why nothing was called when Kobe crashed into our guys who were helping TT to his feet after Walton fouled him? To me it seems so blatantly obvious but nothing was called as far as I know. It seemed pretty cheap and thuggish.
Nice bruised jaw you got there Raja. You gave a nice smile once you mugged Kobe and threw him to the ground, did it hurt then? He doesn't have respect for Kobe? That's ok, 99.9% of the league does. Kobe doesn't need Raja's respect. I wonder how much respect Raja lost after last night's game?
Franchise, Yeah a few people have voiced reasonable opinions. But I see a lot of the thoughtless trash talking. Which honestly has always been one of my turnoffs for sports in general, I really don't understand it personally. But I wasn't singling you out by any means. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheBlackMamba:</div><div class="quote_post">Nice bruised jaw you got there Raja. I wouldn't say that though. The playoffs are physical. They've always been physical. The league used to be more physical than this (the Bad Boys). I just think Raja crossed the line, he tried to cause harm to Kobe, not just foul him. That was a blatant attempt to take Kobe out of the game, if not the series.

i think its alright to have physical contact in the playoffs there strong men and can take a little hit and almost every team in the playoffs has had some sort of flagrant foul
My friend Jesse told me Kobe replied with this on the radio, "Who is this kid? Does he know me? I don't think he was hugged enough as a kid."

I doubt Bell was thinking to himself, "Okay now I'm gonna take Kobe out so hard he won't be able to play". If that had really been the case, Kobe would have been taken out. You can watch it and see Bell reign himself in and not really "follow through", if you will, with the move. It was frustration, pure and simple. Frustration that was fomented by a series-long plague of bad refereeing.

Mamba are you sure Kobe said that? Kobe is a class-act in my book and what Raja Bell did was wrong. He blatantly tried to take Kobe Bryant out of the game and then smiled about it afterwads. That is low and shows that he is just jealous of Kobe's fame and ahcievments. If the league is going to suspend Haslem for throwing something harmless, then Raja Bell should've gotten more than one game.

What about knocking down a guy being helped up by his teammate after one of your teammates flagrantly fouled him? Are those okay things to do?

Though wasn't there some fairly serious drama with regards to Shaq and all that?
