Anunoby is arguably Toronto's best player. IMO, he should be the odds-on favorite for MIP this year. I don't see them dealing him for Simmons.

It sure would be funny if Morey sent him packing not just nowhere near the west coast but completely out of the country.

Um completely different, in that those names you mentioned got traded in the summer or mid season after they voiced they wanted out, and a good bit of them still PLAYED after voicing they want a trade.

I'm going to break it down for you, each example presents a different scenario that isn't close to this Simmons situation.

Vince Carter, actually is a perfect example my friend, actually you bringing him up actually helps my case. Go do your homework, Vince asked for a trade in the summer of 2004, and never got traded that summer!! He showed up and PLAYED 20 games that season for the Raptors before he got traded to the Nets. LOL man you guys just kept looking more and more silly.

Melo was traded mid season and was disgruntled before he got traded but still PLAYED until he got traded!

Kawhi was traded in the offseason, Simmons wasn't. Kawhi was also going to be a free agent the next summer so he told Spurs he wasn't going to resign, different scenario.

Davis only had one more year on his contract when he asked for a trade, he was going to be a free agent the next summer so the Pelicans where at risk of losing him for nothing the next off season since Davis made it clear he wasn't going to resign. Simmons has 4 years left on his contract, once again, do your homework bro. Different scenarios.

    You want some more examples.

Look at Harden last year, requested out in the summer, didn’t get traded and ended up PLAYING 8 games for Houston before he was traded.

You want another example, remember when Kobe wanted out, asked for a trade in the summer, the Lakers never traded him, and guess what he showed up and PLAYED, they got Gasol that season and the rest is history.

I can play that game too.

The few on here defending Simmons are the only people I have seen come to Simmons defense, social media, Sixer’s local media and fans, NBA fans, former players on TV, they all say Simmons is in the wrong right now, even though so are the Sixers.

Both are to blame and you can’t deny it’s a bad look on Simmons at this moment.

it's only you and a little crew of Simmons fans that think Morey is actively hurting the blazers, thanks for the laughs. And you want to mention AD, Kawi, Harden...I actually can show you more cases where your wrong, just see my other post.

The poll at the beginning says otherwise.

Actually it doesn't. Most would give no more for Simmons than CJ and many don't want him at all.

I would like to point out that the number of times Kawhi DID step up far outnumber the number of times that Simmons did.

Kawhi was traded in offseason as you said. Simmons ASKED to be. Simmons asked for a trade in June. That was plenty of time to trade him. Not his fault Sixers didn’t trade him. Carter is a horrible example because he totally sandbagged and PLAYED (as you put it) badly. On purpose. AD sat out games. Harden played one good game to show he could play and then sandbagged it.

I have no love for Morey or the way he is handling this situation. OTOH, I think it is just a tad paranoid to say he is hurting the Blazers. We have no more "right" to trade for Simmons than any other team. Any team that has an interest in Simmons is in the same boat we are.

It’s so unlike Blazer fans to take things so personally!

Just curious, but do contracts mean anything to you? Do the 6ers deserve anything in return for their huge financial investment?

I think ESPN Insider should use their considerable influence and make this trade happen right now.

Don’t think it happens. Philly wants a star and CJ isn’t on their list.

There was a report just a few days ago that said they offered Simmons for CJ and a bunch of draft assets. We turned it down. So I'd say he's on their list.

I missed that one. Can you provide a link?
What constitutes a 'bunch of draft assets'?
