Its crazy that trading Simmons for John Wall might give the 6ers a better chance to win upcoming games.

Yeah I strongly suspect this as well. If any owners disagree, I bet he'd even be happy to get fired, keep his 50 million, and keep pride in not making a bad Simmons deal.

I don't understand how the 6ers can expect Ben to actually play for them again, that just doesn't seem possible in a useful way. I'd think they would come to a John Wall agreement where Simmons can sit at home, get paid, and wait for a trade, but who knows.

Well, either it's crazy because it's patently false, or you're saying "having John Wall play AT ALL is better than having Simmons NOT playing at all," which would have to be true unless Wall is worse than playing Maxey/Shake all the minutes. And come to think of it...

    More so than Ben imo.
Thats why Bens back now to get paid because they were fining him. Next they can suspend him without pay. As long as Philly continues to win Mirey can take his time.
Morey can wait till all the offers come in then he’ll create an auction.

How is Morey's actions helping create a good auction of "offers come in"?

If I'm a team interested in trading for Simmons I'd have probably offered more if Ben had just been sitting at home with an excused leave.

The gm and owners know all this is simply drama and positioning. They know if Ben is someone that fits and they all know he’s all world defensively and they are bidding against others it outs Morey in a better position. They also know they arent going to get him a bargain basement price.
Salaries are having to be close too.

they could suspend him when he didn't report. That was legal since it was a violation of his contract. If he's reporting to team functions, but claiming injury or being 'not ready', Philly can't suspend him without pay. Playrs have missed most of full seasons plenty of times because of a "bad back". If he shows up to games, Philly fans treat him like shit (which they definitely will) and doesn't play...he gets paid. Philly doesn't have as much leverage as you imagine and they will be paying 35M a year for a distraction at best, and a team killing mess at worst.

Philly loses all it's leverage if Simmons simply accepts he's stuck in a bad situation and just goes thru motions. He doesn't have to prove good faith, just not expose himself to bad faith claims and that's easy enough. He'll make 170M over the next 4 years; his salary will hamstring the 76ers salary cap; and the debacle will eat thru Embiid's prime which Morey said it what he's trying to maximize. That's bullshit of course because what Morey seems intent on is minimizing the bruising of his own ego

Just don’t see us making the trade now, think Billups would be happy to run it out this year. Also can’t see us giving much more than CJ and pick or CJ and Anf or little. Other teams will out bid us of course if CJ keeps tearing it up maybe Morey decides CJ is perfect fit

personally I think he’d kill it in Philly. His game translates well for other teams. Either way I’m ok with our team

The thing is that CJ is the perfect fit. He's exactly what they need. They can start him with Milton or Thybulle in the back court so he'll be surrounded with D. That team needs a shot maker that can really create offense... there are other guys out there but I don't know if they're available. It's been a trade that Zach Lowe and others have been talking about for over a year now.

With them having the roster they do a pick or picks make more sense to sweeten the deal than either of our young talented guys. If Morey actually offered Simmons for CJ 3 firsts and 3 swaps, I would hope we offered CJ one first and one swap. Then if Morey came back with 2 picks and 2 swaps we should negotiate some protections and move forward with a much more balanced team.

LMAO Ben's value continues to dwindle every game he doesn't play. No question about that. Morey has no leverage over reality.

Sixers fans are smart for chanting F Simmons, they know after all the years of watching him play and not improve, or even have the courage to shoot. Unlike some in here still gaga over Simmons, really some of the Simmons fan boys here are the only ones across all social media and news outlets that actually support and want Simmons.

it’s not smart because he will have to play for them again as it’s obvious by now that Morey won’t just give him away. He needs to rebuild some value. Chanting against him isn’t going to speed up the process, if anything it’ll do the opposite.

This chanting doesn't increase his value around the league neither. It is not very smart to shit on your product while you selling it.
