They’re also currently riding a 5 game losing streak, most likely 6 after tonight.

Went from 1st to 8th seed lol

Simmons is fading into obscurity. Will he ever really once again be an all-star?

He was last year's runner up for DPOY. He averaged 14.3ppg on 55.7% from the field, 7.2rpg, 6.9apg, 1.6spg, .6bpg and only 3topg. Pretty impressive but most of those numbers are worse than he'd done the season before when Doc wasn't coaching him.

Report: 76ers, Pistons talked bringing Jerami Grant back to Philly in Simmons trade

The team has engaged in ongoing discussions with the Detroit Pistons to acquire Grant, another forward, a young player, and a draft pick in exchange for Simmons, league sources said. One source said power forward/center Kelly Olynyk and second-year swingman Saddiq Bey were mentioned as players who could be included in a possible deal. However, a source said the Pistons are unlikely to include Bey, a Villanova product, or Olynyk.

A person close to the Sixers said the team would want a more high-profile player than Grant in exchange for Simmons. The source added that the team hasn’t spoken to the Pistons lately.

But multiple sources said the Sixers indeed have, and that the discussions were centered around Grant.

I've never heard that they won't take cj and roco. I've heard that if CJ is included that Olshey is only interested in a one for one deal. I think if we were willing to take only filler back like Reed and Joe or Springer... and if we added one future first, then we'd get that deal done. I like Ben's game a lot and think if he was put in a role somewhere in between Dray and Giannis that he would be a big star next to Dame, so I would really like that deal.

Why pursue players that aren't available.

Do you have a list of whos available and whos not?

how many trades happen where you knew the players in the trade were available?

If we could land Ingram for CJ and RoCo today and can't get Simmons for that... I'd pull the trigger on Ingram for sure. Ingram hasn't hit his prime yet, he's long, athletic and can shoot really well. I think Chauncey could improve his defense. Yeah, I'd rather have Simmons because he's a monster defensively and I don't think the Sixers have ever put him in the right position to unlock his offensive potential but if Simmons isn't a for sure option and Ingram is, then you make that deal.

Oh and everything about what we would give up and what the Sixers would take is pure speculation based on rumors from writers I trust very little if at all. I honestly have no idea what is going on in either of Morey's or Olshey's heads but whatever is... I don't like either of them.

Sixers say now they will wait to off season to trade Ben. This is complete strategy by Philly to put more pressure on Ben and create a strong, get him now before playoff, demand. I believe there will be 5-7 teams that will make decent enough offers after 35 games or so. Just my gut feeling.

I'm still wondering if Morey's current desired end strategy is not Lillard (as that's too unrealistic) but rather Kyrie Irving. It would depend on the Nets losing patience and Irving being willing to play for the 76ers. That's not an obvious parlay to pull off, but neither part of it seems impossible. Irving would start getting paid again without having to get the shot, the Nets would gain a third star that fits reasonably well alongside two dominant perimeter scorers, helping amp up their defense and giving them a third play-maker who can also operate as a cutter and out of the dunker's spot (as well as post up smaller players).

Irving, meanwhile, would probably be one of Morey's perfect fits alongside Joel Embiid, about as good a fit as Lillard would be.

Didn't they already discuss that but KD told the Nets not to do that? Thought I ready that somewhere.

So, is Kyrie not playing? I kinda tuned out for a few weeks and feel the Blazers might be finding their groove and Lillard looked good last night. Did it seem to anyone else like he had his stroke and core strength back? Morey will be feeling the long awaited pressure soon. The longer Embiid is out the more pressure he will feel. I wish it was CJ and not Lillard who had a monster game. Also, why isn’t CJ stepping up more with Lillard struggling?

Problem now is Maxey and Curry are surging so they don’t feel they need CJ.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I've read (a month ago or so) that Durant still wanted Irving to be a part of the team. But does that last all the way to the trade deadline if he believes that one of his best shots at a post-Warriors title might get wasted? There's definitely landmines to be navigated here before such a deal could happen, but this feels like the cleanest exchange--a team that Simmons fits on that has an "extra" perimeter scorer that it's not even getting value from that Morey would absolute accept as a star.
