Of course they hope to trade him tonight. They're asking for a king's ransom. If they move him tonight, that means they fleeced the recipient.

Most likely, he doesn't get moved tonight, and Morey has to actually take a reasonable deal. Of course, it only takes on idiot...

Yeah, I guess when you're saying "hope" you can't be proved wrong.

I just think this means what I've been saying. Morey has been seemingly pie in the sky about Simmons for a while and now the demand will come down until it reaches the most he can possibly get that helps the Sixers get better since they are already contenders and makes Morey feel like he didn't get completely fucked by what Doc and Embiid said after the playoff exit.

I think Simmons will be on a new team tonight and I hope it's here. Neil is in a position where he might have to overpay. CJ plus every future draft consideration we can give would probably get it done... That would make us far better next year especially if it is the difference in signing Norm. Right now I'm short sited because we have one of the best players in the league and do not have complementary pieces around him. We put all of our eggs in the offense basket and it hasn't come close to paying off so getting a guy who is arguably the best defender in the league, who also has great offensive skills, is worth the overpay in future draft picks.

The problem that I have if Simmons goes tonight and we don't land Siakam or Grant, I see three way trades in places where CJ is probably valued to be harder after the draft.

I think the 76ers "hope" to trade Simmons tonight because they'd love to have a high pick now rather than lower picks in future years

Problem with getting Simmons right now is because Philly thinks they have a chance at Lillard in the deal. This is Henry Abbott’s fault.

Henry Abbot has zero influence on any of this. Morey and Neil don’t read tweets thank god to make decisions.

For now, I still think that situation is untenable and he's just posturing. He's using a drastic and in my opinion stupid tactic to drive Simmons value up. In the end he'll take the offer that helps his team the most and adds the most value at the same time.

    • For all the undeniable tension in the Pacific Northwest, neither Portland nor Lillard is ready to entertain trade possibilities … certainly not while Lillard is in Tokyo trying to focus on the Olympics.

    • The Wizards agreed to the Westbrook trade, league sources say, believing it would enhance their chances of Beal committing to a long-term extension to stay in the nation’s capital rather than hasten his exit.

    • Philadelphia continues to ask for a massive return in its attempts to construct a Simmons trade. To illustrate: There were ill-founded suggestions circulating earlier this week that the 76ers were warming to the idea of a potential deal with Portland in which CJ McCollum landed in Philadelphia as the prime acquisition from the Blazers. It was made clear, when I checked it out, that Lillard remains the Trail Blazer coveted by Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey. The Sixers know they have to get this right and keep insisting that they are determined not to rush into anything.

I think we need to look elsewhere. Morey keeps dreaming of Dame. If we can find an upgrade from a different team, Dame will not be on the market and Morey will be left with egg on his face and an unhappy Simmons.

The idea that Daryl is banking on Dame asking for a trade as his whole summer plan is hilarious-- i wonder if he contributed to the media leaks the past month.

I actually think Simmons would be happy, Philly Fan won't be. Simmons seems to have that Legend in his own mind thing going. I read he's hitting jumpers, so maybe the wake up call has kicked in.

Woj said yesterday that Simmons and his agency are on board in wanting a change of scenery.

Need to leak a deal to Woj like the Lakers did with Buddy Hield. Then wait for Morey's phone call.

    so is Steven Adams lol.
All nba players can hit jumpers in an empty gym. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for Simmons but I wouldn’t expect a big jump in the shooting category

On some level, it does make sense for Morey to at least wait a week to see how Portland and Washington's rosters shape out after most of the free agents are off the market. That will be a good gauge of whether or not Dame or Beal may be closer or farther to a trade request. Then start looking at realistic deals then.

But if I'm the Blazers, I wouldn't worry about that. Simmons is not my 1st priority anyways.
