he's a transcendent talent who needs the right environment to flourish. A consistent all NBA defender who would address nearly every one of our primary weaknesses.

If you don't want Ben because he can't shoot, fine say that. If you say he's a liability because of his FT shooting, say that.

But don't come at me with "prima donna" or "court demeanor." That's reminiscent of all the idiots who ran out Sheed because he had an attitude. It's clear he's not built like Giannis mentally, who can block out of the nonsense and isn't afraid to fail on TV. But if he were, he wouldn't be on the trading block and they would have built around him instead of Embiid. What you hope for is that you can nurture that talent and placate him to a point where his game can then take over. What doc and Joel did in their postgame media availability the minute after losing was unforgiveable. I honestly don't blame Ben for being reclusive this summer.

The point is, we might potentially be in a place to be able to land a defensive talent like him without giving up our best asset-- that in and of itself is a miracle and we shouldn't just dismiss it because some dumbass news hack called him a "socialite."

sorry, i got caught up on "court demeanor."

Ap0logies @dviss1 if i missed those posts, but your continual comments about CP/Grayson/etc were distracting and had nothing to do with Ben.

I got to say, watching the documentary on Netflix about Ben left me thinking he was a diva Prima Donna. I'm sure my observation could be wrong and maybe he has grown up.

They had everything to do with Ben and his court demeanor. You literally LOL'd when I said you could use court demeanor to determine a player's mindset. But most everyone in here has used court demeanor to dislike players like Chris Paul...

Who cares if people like/dislike a guy if he's in the finals? I'd rather get guy who helps us win in the playoffs over a guy who is being voted most likeable in the regular season

So you'd love Ron Artest coming to the Blazers during his mentally ill Days? Did you like Reuben Patterson?
Dennis Rodman maybe when he was sitting down on the free throw line? Lots of people in here HATED Kobe...
LaMarcus Aldridge better not ever think of coming back. I'd boo him IN the Rose Garden. :dunno:

Where do you draw the line at players that you'd hate to have on your team for various reasons? There are some people I just don't want to root for.

For me, I don't want Ben Simmons anywhere near my favorite team for the reasons I mentioned. He's someone I'd hate to have to root for.

We all know what Fan is short for. There are some players I'd just hate to have here.

Can i just say again that when the pressure got thick he curled up in a ball and hid?

    thats not a winning behavior.
A winner comes to the media and says he has issues to work on and plans on improving them over the summer to come back later.

He just found a cave and ran.

In pro sports all athletes are great. Im of the opinion that what takes a greT player and turns them imto an all star or superstar is mentality.
    Belief in ones self.

Ben has shown none of this. Im not sure how anyone can think he is championship caliber player until he can face his weaknesses and gain some mental strength.

I'd say this team had years to try and get the Dame + CJ combo to work and while I love CJ as a person - I am not sure that just a new coach is going to change the fundamental problem and take the Blazers all the way to the promised land. So, if the option comes to get Ben Simmons (who I do not love) for CJ presents itself, the Blazers should try it. It might backfire, fore sure, but I would argue that the potential for it to work in a new environment is at least as high, if not higher than the potential of the existing combination that has not worked for years all of a sudden working.

    Just my $0.02.

Apparently the Spurs are really interested in Simmons. If they offered this trade, if I'm Morey, I jump on it:

Why? That doesn't make them a contender right now.

Why would Philly do that move? Murray, while he has potential, has never been consistent, and certainly is not a clutch player. The rest is fodder. And Mr. Nightlife ain't gonna dig that at all.

So far this summer, Simmons has been linked to the Warriors, Wolves, Blazers, and Spurs in trade talks. And one scout I spoke to said they wouldn’t be surprised if Simmons considers not showing up to training camp if he hasn’t been traded.

The Sixers believe that they’re a title contender, and they’re reportedly seeking four future first-round picks and an All-Star-level player for Simmons. The rest of the league, meanwhile, falls somewhere on a spectrum between thinking Simmons can still be a top-25 player and thinking he’s not worth trading for at all.

What a nothing new, blah, story. It's a rehashing B.S. take. Simmons will likely be staying in Philly. Morey likes to play slick. But the Sixers have mucked this thing up. No ones biting on the ridiculous asking price. Better to cut bait, and not further upend your franchise with a simmering cancer. If not, Morey better build some BBQ pits around the arena.

He is. And now the question is how does he save face.
I assume his strategy was to see if anyone would bite on his ridiculous demands. And when he does actually end up moving him for far less., he can at least say to 76er fans that he tried to get more.
