There's overspending and then there's just flushing money down the toilet because of mismanagement of funds. One example was the outright theft of billions of dollars by private contractors during the Iraq War through frivolous spending and price gouging. We got taken in a big way, and nobody did anything about it.

Not quite. I don't trust how much they're spending on the military. What I do know is "not enough" is really bad, and whatever else they spend on in government is equally full of pork.
It's not a question of spending more than those countries combined. It's a matter of spending 3% of our GDP on military, which is not even close to a wartime %. We just happen to have a HUGE GDP compared to the others.

Nobody stopped the rest of the world from trading with Cuba. They simply ran out of other people's money sooner than most countries will.

As I said, you need to get educated with Michael Moore movies. You say that automotive cities like Detroit were ruined by Democratic mayors. Ever since Moore's first movie, everyone except you has known that the cause was car manufacturers moving out of the U.S. As for the California cities that went bankrupt, the cause was conservative city councils giving police giant pensions. Once the pensions came due, the cities went bankrupt. Interesting how conservatives ruin cities with their policies and then blame liberals.
