As a Blazer fan I think were contractually obligated at birth to hate those who associate themselves with the Lakers, whether we've met them or not.
Old guys behaving like clowns. No need to take it to a private thread. Have a seat, partner, we will eat popcorn and laugh our asses off!
Ahh, I thought that might have been it. I guess it's time for me to come clean. I'm not a Blazers fan. I followed a Lew Alcindor while he was at UCLA and followed him when he was with Milwaukee and then as Jabbar in LA. But was never really a Magic Johnson or Kobe fan and no longer follow the Lakers. If anything, I follow the Warriors because I've followed Curry since he was in college. Hate to add even more bad news but in addition to being a lifelong Yanx fan, I've also been a Raiders fan nearly as long...in fact, I became a fan the year Al Davis coached them to their first winning season...1963 0r 64?...(I thought the Uni's were cool, (modeled after the Army Black Knights)(another Al Davis innovation)
There is so much counseling I need after reading this lol. My dad told me he was a Laker fan before the Blazers existed and still have some issues to work out from that. FWIW’s I dislike Draymond a whole lot and Kerr too, but Curry and Klay I think are fairly likeable guys.
Oh, I agree about Draymond Green. He's an embarrassment IMO...he kinda reminds me of Dennis Rodman, great defensively but a total ass hat.
I was saying that you being asked to stop is not about your political leanings. That's what's "not about politics." The mods who asked you to stop aren't liberals.
Let me say it this way: What I'm saying is, the seeming disdain for me in this forum has EVERYTHING to do about politics, Trump, right-to-life, etc. From there, the other insults, snarkyism, and the like, enters into the fray (specifically, yankee), which then requires mod intervention. My defenses really have nothing to do with the mods, unless you take me on as it relates to my beliefs/passions, etc.
Yes, I'd agree you're in the minority with your beliefs, so there will be some number of people who have disdain for your opinions. Just the nature of the beast with a Portland fanbase. If you were an Atlanta Hawks fan, most likely their off-topic forum wouldn't be terribly welcoming to liberal viewpoints. As long as you don't think the moderating is biased against you, things are fine. You'll have to decide for yourself if you're okay with arguing with a bunch of liberals. At least you have MARIS on your side!
My brother in-laws dad (Bill Renna) played for the Yanks in late 50's and Red Sox. I heard many a great Story from Bill, over the years! He passed away in 2014. He wasnt a starter but did start a number of games, in the minors he was known as a power/hr hitting outfielder. My brother in law has his small uni framed by his mother when he was a bat boy for the Red Sox. On his wall there are pics of Casey Stengel and the Yankees along with BoSox pics. Played College at Santa Clara and was a veteran. I have several cards signed by him and a baseball. Loved it when he and his wife come up from San Jose and we would sit on the Columbia River at Brothers house and talk baseball.
