Apparently, back in the day(70's) bball was like hockey, with fights almost every game.</div> great book isn't it? you may also want to read rudy t's bio, he describes the incident pretty well. kermit washington was huge and very strong and also had boxing training. back on those days it was just like hockey, teams had enforcers that got into fights to protect the stars on their teams. kermit thought that rudy t was going for kareem, who had kung fu dreams of his own (remember the bruce lee movie?). big man fights always dissapoint, they are too clumsy. i can't believe how shaq misses. if he ever gets into a fight with someone smaller who knows how to evade punches, he's toast. christie vs. fox and childs vs. kobe were great first punches. barkley did throw a dude out of a bar window once. and mourning vs. larry johnson sucked as a fight, but it was great to see jeff van gundy holding on to mourning's leg like a mutt. i was hugely pissed at mourning though. it did cost the heat the playoffs that year.

I had always heard about the incident, but until reading the book I didn't know the details. Feinstein did a good job of looking at it from different angles. It all makes me wonder about some other good fights from before that time. Maybe one with stars like Robertson, Baylor, West, or others. I'm pretty sure Chamberlain never got into it with anyone, but as for the others, I'm sure there were quite a few scraps.
Nah I saw some Video a While back where I think it was some Italian Guy Pnched the ref in the face and caused Life-THREATENING INJURIES! From one punch! That guy must have been really really strong.It was on You Gotta See This! (I think) Still Funny though...

T-Mac vs. Bobby Jackson one of my favorite fights, because T-Mac, even though hes so much bigger than Bobby, ended up on the ground with Jackson on him, its not like he got sucker punched either so i couldnt believe it when i saw that.. hahaha ( I like T-Mac a lot too so all u guys who love him I ain't tryin to diss him i just thought that one was funny )
Man, I remember when Shaq was bout to give Brad Miller a HAYMAKER. That probably would have ended his career. Kobe always gets his ass whipped. I remember when Reggie Miller beat that ass.
^ Brad said that he felt a strong gust of wind coz of that punch...he'll be knocked out for sure if that connected.

Favorites: A Raptor was trying to beat up Bradley. A rocket threw a punch at Bradley. Gundy grabbing on to Alonzo's legs.

The Shaq/Barkley fight was pretty good too. Funny stuff. I would probably post a little warning to little kids that aren't allowed to hear swearing though. :mrgreen: Have to protect the little ones. Haha i have that fight it was halarious. T-Mac was about to shoot a J and then threw the ball at Bobby Jackson. Then Jackson pushed him hard as hell and T-mac punched him on the shoulder then took him to the ground hard . Then one of the Kings pushed T-Mac over and Boby Jackson got on top and was about to hit T-Mac hard but the players broke up the fight. They should have let em fight it out.
lol T-Mac had that fight I swear i saw that ball coming to bobby's face before he even jumped lol i dunno how the hell the commentarist said bobby won the fight..tmac threw ball then was telling bobby like wat bitch bring it on lol thenbobby came and TRIED to hit him and mcgrady hit him in the shoulder then both went to the ground and that was it...not to mention fans throwing a beer to bobby when he was heading to the locker room lol..
