I like Detroit cuz all their starters are solid defenders. Every other starting 5 has atleast one player that isn't a good defender.

SG - Raja Bell: A great defensive player and rather underrated with his shot as well. He shot better then Q-Rich from three last season and a lot of people over look that. SF - Shawn Marion: What to say about Shawn Marion, he is consistantly a great defender every year and always seems to find his way on the All-Defensive team. PF - Amare Stoudemire: Going back to his natural position at power forward and with out Q and JJ throwing up threes I don't see any reason why he can't average 30 points a game this season. C - Kurt Thomas: Another defender the Suns added this off-season. Thomas will take a lot of pressure off Amare on the defensive end of the floor. The Pistons are not too far behind though.
Sura Anderson Tmac Swift Yao Don't sleep on the Rockets. May not be as talented as Miami on paper, but I think we'll have better chemistry. Especially if we get Spree, I think we'll be the most talented team in the league. Phoenix has fell off. They could have got more for Joe Johnson. He was too vital to they're success. They've lost Steven Hunter, and in return have a undersized C in Kurt Thomas who will get destroyed in the West where teams are stronger and faster. But who's going to be the secret weapon? No other than Pat Burke . Honestly, they couldn't have avoided the Joe Johnson situation, but they should have got somebody like Al Harrington in return.
How could Sura, Anderson/Sprewell, Mcgrady, Swift, and Yao be more talented than Shaq, Walker, Posey, Wade, Williams? The best lineups for next year will be Miami,Det,SA,...and the Kings.Cant hate on the Kings, their starting 5 is LEGIT...

HOUSTON WILL OWN THE SHIZ OUT OF SACRAMENTO! DONT EVEN CONSIDER PUTTING THEM AHEAD OF HOUSTON! YAO WILL RAPE BRAD MILLER! ok sorry, but we always whoop the stupid "kings" (who chickened out on taking the 5th seed because they were afraid of Dallas, instead went ahead and threw games to end up as the 6th seed and lost to Seattle instead) I see Detroit as a fluke, and now that Brown is gone, they can stop winning. They are such a boring team to watch. I like the offensive part of basketball, more than the defensive. San Antonio and Detroit ruined all the excitement/fun for the championship game last year (except for game 5). Top 5 teams in REAL ORDER: Miami SAntonio-Houston Houston-SAntonio Detroit Dallas As for Houston being a better team than Heat? I think they are, if not now then by next year. Yao will surpass Shaq soon Walker is a big head, but Stro is...well you know T-Mac...pffffft posey? Wade over Derek Sura and Williams....i think williams has a slight edge over cuz of his 3s. Well I think if Shaq's age gets to him, then Yao will surpass him this year. Yao moves up like 3-4 ppg a season so will average 23 instead of 19. Shaq will move down to 21 imo. we will have to wait and see though. (i am now oficially hated by like half of the forum) but i am right.

Not even next year will the Rockets surpass that lineup.
Actually, since when do the Rockets always "wup" the Kings. Besides, the topic of this post doesnt say which team is better. It says which team has the best lineup. Try to find a player thats average in the Kings lineup. Cant do it. Point made.
ok....I'm seriously not in favor of just looking at starting lineups, but let us see..... *not in any particular order btw just my opinion* Miami- good starting five alot of star players and great players....,but with that many stars.....shots are going to be hard to divide amongst them in my opinion....Walker wants his 3's....Jason wants his flash.....Posey doesn't really demand shots.....Shaq needs his shots as a critical point for them to win.....Wade doesn't demand shot, but look at him I would give him the ball....so yeah....only thing worrying me is the shots taken by who.... SA- this lineup is pretty much the same as last year.....so one word: DEFENSIVE.....they struggle on offense compared to other lineups and they are weak at center...sorry I'm just not giving Nazi or Rasho that much credti...once again just my opinion..... Clippers- Definitely a big stepup for them with the lineup, but once again....shots....Mobley, Cassel, Maggete all demand shots....Brand is the unselfish one....and Kaman takes alot of unnecessary shots as well.....my opinion...sorry.... Cleveland-good lineup and I'm shure 'Bron will destribute the rock very nicely....but for some reason I can't help but feel that Larry willl take alot of forced shots like he did in Washington.... Kings- yes indeed a good lineup.....Peja and Bibby good shooters....Shareef just good in an overall aspect....Brad Miller is a tough guy....Bonzi = shots, but you never know....but if you look at that lineup....only people capable of creating their own offense is Shareef and Bibby.....Bonzi hasn't doen that in awhile and I stil consider him as a jump shooter....who can dunk occasionally for fun....so i don't know....also my major concern is with their defense....yeah....._______________ <-- thats all I'm registering for that part.... Dallas- this is now Dirk's offense....so let DIrk do the Dirk.....no Finley = not so good for them....yes Howard is good but not good enough yet to replace him to that much of a point.........and Jason Terry is a shooter....but he has improved his passing so ..... Detroit- DEFENSE!!!!!!!...ok but shut down the two guards and defense is all they got.....enough said.....but i liek the defense .....I'm a fan of defense btw..... Houston- a good lineup that can make it big if they play right....they are gonna be up there with the top 5 in the West, but I can tell you this....they aren't the best starting lineup by any means....but they are very good....I mean I hate to say it as a Rocket's fan, but I hate getting my hopes too high with these assumptions...so before I start being biased about my team..I'll have to watch them first for the first month....so no bias here....anyways....Yao is gonna do his thing...T-Mac will do his....it's how well Sura, DA, and Stro can play alongside them will make the difference.... Bucks- I like this lineup a very fast team in my opinion....TJ, Redd, Simmons....but if u look closely at this lineup...its full of shooters......and defense isn't their suit....so yeah....have fun Bucks....but they DID get alot better so congrats to you Bucks fans...... Knicks-..........too many offensive players playing to look out for themselves....and no defense....only thing that will save them is if Larry can get them to play defense.....then pray that the offense meshes welll...... ok I think after everything I just said....I probably have pissed off everyone in this forum at least a little bit....I tried to be as unbiased as I can be...so sorry and this i sjust my opinion so don't butcher me....I AM only 16.....and I DO want to live the rest of my life...so no hunting me down...please? lol
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nuggets also have a good lineup. They are a legit SG away from being contenders IMO.</div> Yea the Nuggets have a really good starting 5. I have heard that they are looking at Spree. THat would give them one of the better starting 5s in the L. I think people overrate Stro. I don't think hes to much of a scoring threat on the low block, doesn't have the greatest jumper, and isn't to good of a rebounder. I think hes only good for 15 and 7, but i hear people saying he's a potential All Star. I also like Golden State with... C-Foyle PF-Murphy SF-Dunleavy SG-Richardson PG-Davis There good, nothing great, but i like em.

Stromile is a better scorer, man to man defender, and shot blocker. Haslem is a better rebounder, and has a more consistent mid-range jumper, but that's all. No one is mentioning a lineup that wasn't really there last year, but should be big this year: <u>Indiana Pacers</u> PG - Jamaal Tinsley SG - Stephen Jackson SF - Ron Artest PF - Jermaine O'neal C - Jeff Foster
The Minnesota Kevin Garnett. C - Uh... PF - Kevin Garnett omg wtf!!!! SF - Umm... SG - ..... yeah uh .. PG - And ... All joking aside... with the adition of Finley, from top to bottom, I would pick the Spurs - with a honorable mention to the talented Heat.
Most talented/athletic per man? 1 Miami 2 Houston 3 Sacramento 4 Phoenix 5 Denver Team most likely to win a series if it was 5-on-5, you couldn't use your bench? 1 SA 2 Detroit 3 Phoenix
Everyone has mentioned the big teams the Pistons, heat and Spurs. However, I think people are not just sleeping but half way snoring on the Bulls lineup take a look at thteam and you will find no wholes in their starting lineup or back ups really: Chris Duhon: Perhaps the most underrated point guard in the league he averaged 4.5 assists in his rookie season, and was near the top of the league in assists to turnovers ratio. He can also hit the shot when he has to. Kirk Hinrich: Averaged over twenty points in their playoff series against Washington, and is a good ball handler this could very well be the least turnover prone back court in the entire league in my opinion. I don?t know how the statistics read. Luol Deng: A athletic young swing man who can dunk great, score, and surprisingly is a pretty good defender it was not considered one of his stronger suites when he came into the team last year, but he has really surprised people. I think that added with his surprisingly quick development is what put him over the top of Nocioni for the starting spot. Tyson Chandler- Great defender, and has a pretty decent scoring game he just needs to polish it up a bit. Will be a beast in the future one of the better shot blockers and rebounders in the league. Can?t wait to see what he does this season. Eddy Curry- Not sure how much longer he will be here, but he is a great scorer, and can open things up for the guards probably a top five center in the eastern conference in my opinion. Top ten in the league. Now what I think makes the lineup great is not just the starters, but the people they have backing them up could pretty much be a starting lineup for a team like the Hawks, Hornets, or Bobcats with: Jannero Pargo _ Great spark, scorer, and locker room guy. Ben Gordon- No explanation needed Andres Nocioni- Great defender and has a good offensive game. Antonio Davis- Getting older, but still can give you ten points a night, and bang around down low. Malik Allen/Othella Harrington/ Songaila- Good trio Songaila can give you ten a night, Allen is a good player who is underrated, and Othella?s career has been going very well in Chicago. I don?t think there is at least one player on the team that is not at least decent.
Why are you all comparing just the starting lineups? There's alot of factors you haven't considered such as team chemistry, coaching, bench players etc. You can't just base everything on a starting lineup alone.
