I hate it when people claim Tupac and Biggie are the best rappers of all time. F*ck no, they're not. Tupac had great topics, but horrible lyrics. Biggie had decent lyrics and dropped gems every now and then, such as "The Notorious Thugz", but had silly topics to rap about. Tupac's poems had more lyricism than his fu*kin' songs did! That's a shame...Big L? He was a great lyricist. However, he's not around any more. How do you know he would have been the best ever? As soon as a rapper gets famous and makes millions, he loses his creative touches and concentrates more on drama than lyrics (example = Eminem). Eminem used to be the best rapper alive, but after the Marshall Mathers LP, everything has been downhill for him lyrically. Now not a single person in the world can claim that Em is the greatest rapper ever.KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Immortal Technique, Papoose's underground sh*t, etc. That's things you all ought to listen to.
What I gathered from this thread:1. Nas is the best ever.2. 90% of the people on BBW don't know sh*t about rap.

No, that's not it. I have nothing wrong with people's preference, or what they like, but someone who knows rap should have at least a sense on who the best ever is. I mean, I personally enjoy some truly sh*tty rap songs, but I don't think they're the best songs ever. I'm not particularly a fan of some of the top people ever to rap, like KRS for example, but I can acknowledge his skill and what he did for the game. That's knowing something about rap.

I like alot of slower rap, I prefer Fabolous over Nas.Just my opinion.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>No, that's not it. I mean there are some people that listen to the most commercial-mainstream music ever made and think it's the best music in world... :no3: (Ex. Yung Joc)

It's amazing how much we share about rap, I personally don't like KRS either except for ROTBB but I still acknowledge he is great.
You guys that are true hip hop fans should listen to Jedi Mind Tricks...my favorite artist at the moment also Jus Allah(who broke away from Jedi Mind Tricks) is sick as hell, hes an Underground legend.
LOL @ Young Joc. Guy sucks so bad.I posted best rapper alive as in whether you like him or not, by skill...I don't know if I specified that.

Sickest rappers to ever start a group. Their lyricism is nowhere near comparable to anyone. The guys spit about the usual topics (moeny, cash, hoes, etc.), but with the sickest lyrics."Animal Rap" from Jedi Mind Tricks has to be my favorite song of all time.I also like Benefit. Anyone ever heard of him? He's a sick, white lyricist. "Proceed With Caution" is also a sick ass song. Just check the lyrical level, man.I'm an inspiring emcee... Or, well, I was. I keep my lyrical content to strictly underground style, you know? In other words, I rhyme using multis and always have two or three punchlines in each verse. I stopped rapping because I have other things to do for right now. I may start again later, but for now, I'm a bit side-tracked with school and all. Also, my best friend and I used to go to a studio over the summer and we recorded a shitload of songs! It cost $35 an hour to record, so we used our time wisely. No joking around. Strictly business-type of sh*t, you know?
