It seems to me it has to be Clyde, but Walton comes in a very close second. Dame is #3 for me already, but don't see how he moves up without more playoff success.
best is pretty ambiguous. as ive collected DS since forever its no contest for me. no damon on the poll but fuckin steve blake - lord help me. but he's probably my favorite, best well...... depends on the criteria. other favs of mine - rider, sheed, sabonis, porter, lucas, walton, kenny, davis, roy, dame, pryz etc damon follows me on IG now so kewl
Here's my all-time Blazers starting 5, with two alternates. I'd give Clyde the nod as the best. 12 seasons, 8 All-star appearances, and 94 playoff games as a Blazer. Walton gets the second slot. NBA champ, MVP. In my opinion, Lillard has now risen ahead of Aldridge for the #3 position. Aldridge appeared in 34 playoff games as a Blazer in 9 seasons. Dame has already played in 35 playoff games, in only 6 seasons. Dame also has that 1st-team all-nba award under his belt. Porter, Lucas, and Kersey round out my top 7.
I got Walton then Clyde. Lillard is 3rd tho. He needs a little more playoff success imo.. 1 more 1st round exit and it’s starting to be too much early exits
Best Pure Talent goes to Bill Walton. Best career goes to Clyde (Dame's gonna catch him), best Trail Blazer who embodied the Rip City Culture on and off the court, Terry Porter and Damian Lillard. Because I have Dame in two of those categories I'll vote for him #1.
Clyde has become a total Houston Rocket turd, but he owns the records, and playoff success, albeit with a lot better supporting cast, so my vote, reluctantly goes to him. Man! it's so sad how much of a Rocket licker he is. Acts like he never played for our team. Dame, is the guy who I want to vote for in my heart. I think if he can stay healthy, PLEASE!, he will own all the records when it's all said and done. Dame is , BY FAR, the best Blazer closer I have ever seen. He is an Alpha Dog and game assassin. Dame was real good right out of the gate. Excellent now. Took Clyde a couple years. But maybe that was on Dr. Jack. Clyde didn't stay, and took the chicken way to a championship.
Broy wasn't around for very long but he was a heck of a closer too, but yeah Dame's definitely not scared to take big shots.
Walton is my sentimental, emotional choice. In his prime, he was at top 3 center of ALL TiME. Don't think that you can say that about Drexler and his position. Getting Dame there would be great, but he's got to win more. Brandon would be my favorite if his career didn't get cut short. He might have been the best ever - leader, finisher, setting the pace, shooter, clutch, brave.
Probably have to say Clyde, just on all star appearances, play-off success and longevity. I think Dame may pass him, hopefully in all of those. But, while Clyde may have been the greatest, my childhood and teenage years my favorites were Kersey and Uncle Cliffy. Also have to say that sharing a birthday with B Roy also keeps him pretty high on my list.
