    Can't believe nobody drafted Mamadou!!

Of course, he's going to camp with the Warriors, so he'll be shooting 40% from 3 by the end of August.

I like the idea of VanVleet, also Yogi Ferrell. I'd love to see the Blazers bring in a couple PG's to play in summer league.

Anyone watch Wichita State? How come both their backcourt wasn't drafted?

Of the two, I guess I'm more intrigued by Ron Baker because he seems more interchangeable - could pair with either of our guys, he's larger, and he's supposed to be a good defender. Kind of Kirk Hinrich type?

Looking at the breakdown, Texas A&M's Alex Caruso intrigues me. 6'5" PG that has developed into a decent shooter. Phrases of note from his profile:
    • " undoubtedly a point guard who is at his best when creating for others"
    • "fundamentals required to make every type of pass a point guard needs to make"
    • "The ball never sticks in Caruso's hands. His off-ball movements are phenomenal and he reads the plays on the court in frames ahead of his teammates."
    • "His box outs are fantastic for a player of his size, often clearing space for his teammates to grab the board"
    • "Caruso is a tenacious defender and is always communicating with his teammates"
    • "He has supremely quick hands that help him intercept passes for easy transition baskets."
    • "His closeout technique on shooters is innate and even when he doesn't get credit for a steal, he's seemingly always in the thick of things when it comes to turnovers. He gobbles loose balls at an eye-popping rate and forces jump balls regularly. "
Turnover prone, not a great athlete, and not a great shooter, but feels like a guy who would be great facilitating for all the other guys we want to feature in summer league, and could have a chance to carve out a career as a defensive-oriented PG.

Houston signed GP2 and Kyle Wiltjer within minutes of the end of the 2nd round. Finney-Smith would be good for some highlights if nothing else.

Are we hoping to turn Montero into a tall PG? Or is he already old news?

From what little I've seen from him, I see more wing offense rather that distributing PG. I see him with all the ability in the world to create for himself, and less inclination to create for others. So, tall SG rather than PG, IMO.

Another tall, athletic rebounder type who can't shoot? Hmmm, I think we're good there with Ed Davis.

Why "poor man's"? I think he's definitely got a chance to be better than Barton. Bigger, more athletic, better defender.

Because Will was always more productive at similar levels of development. Will's college numbers were ridiculous.

Yes he's got a "chance" to be better than Barton, and here's hoping he is. But it seems unlikely.

Houston always seems to gobble up the players who put up gaudy numbers but have reps of not having great BBIQ. I'm looking at you Montrezl Harrell.

Everyone here swore he would climb up into the lottery... Even my cynical ass self didn't see him sliding all the way out the back door, though.

Seems like teams were really trying to hit a home run on players with Star potential instead of drafting guys who could turn into rotation talent in the 2nd. Guess thats not a huge schock since everyone will be chasing the next Draymond Green instead of trying for the next Will Barton.
