mj and dr j can fight for second. but we obviosly know who is first. i hate to admit it, but its vince carter
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Tha Franksta:</div><div class="quote_post">Michael Jordan hands down I can only say one thing: free throw line.</div> Dr. J is known for making the foul-line dunk famous...
^Really, who doesn't know that. This thread lives again and it's hard to choose, but it's MJ. But Drexler had some big windmills watching that greatest dunks dvd. Even Tom Chambers had a high flying act when he jumped and hit I guess a guard and got even higher and dunked it with 2 hands.
Its pretty hard to pick one or the other because Dr. J was the measuring stick for MJ's generation. Everyone innovated off of what he did in the first place. I have to give it to Dr. J due to history and that one sick windmill over someone that will stick in my mind forever

If you watched the NBA XL all star episode you would know that Dr.J is a better dunker. You flew from distances dunking on guys, it was amazing. The also showed Nique, Jordan and Carter. Vince's dunks were better then all of theres but I think it's because there is more creativity now. Heres my list: 1)Vince 2)Dr.J 3)MJ 4)Nique
I'm a big Vince Carter fan so don't get me wrong here. But he can't dunk anymore. Dr. J and MJ both had entire careers flying through the air while Vince had about 4 good years and out. My prediction for Vince is that he is going to be mainly a perimetre player in the near future (if he isn't already). I don't think he should be compared to MJ and Dr. J whatsoever now or ever
Dr. J's windmill dunk was over Michael Cooper of the Lakers. He had a nasty tamahawk over Walton on the Finals (Blazers won that title) It's good to know old school
'Nique, 'Nique, 'Nique. Give the boy some love, he deserves to be talked about on the same levels as Julius and Michael.
Exactly. 'Nique was a better dunker than Mike and I'll always believe that. It's damn near criminal at the disrespect 'Nique gets today....the guy deserves all the respect in the world and he doesn't get it.
I'd have to say MJ was the better dunker, even though they both had pretty unique dunks, but somehow my heart tells me to pick Michael Jordan as the better dunker.
I'd say MJ was better because he had a more variety of dunks Nique was sick but it seemed like all his dunks were windmills.
Nique is the man. But looking at their dunk contest, IMO Jordan had better dunks. It was more creative looking, and I feel like it's criminal for even looking at it in that way. Nique dunked on more people, but MJ style looked a bit better to me.

Dr. J was much taller, and once u hit a certain height point, you dont look as eye pleasing. But anyways, I would say Vince is/was a better dunker than both of them. remember, we're not comparing their careers or injuries, strictly only their dunking abilities at their peak moments, and MJ was definitely better than Dr. J. It's harder for dunks in the future, because you have to be more creative, and for Carter to win blowing away the competition should prove he's a top dunker and can be compared to Jordan. Obviously Jordan's dunk ability would be exaggerated since he won the NBA championships so many times. But we're not lookin at that, we're lookin at strictly when they were at their top dunk game
