True, but the Anthem is one of the hardest songs to sing AND it's someone else's song. Performing it will always be compared to Whitney Houston's rendition.
What genre would you classify your music as? I say that while fully believing there are really only 2 genres of music: Good music and Shit that sucks.
I've been thinking about this all afternoon and I have some questions that are coming from a good place. They may not seem like it because they're going to sound critical. First I want to say how admirable it is to see someone have the guts to put themselves out there. That said, @KingSpeed ....what is the reason behind this? Is this a serious attempt at a music career or are you just messing around because you can? Are you looking for another income? You've mentioned magic and comedy before and now this. If this is serious, do you have someone to help you? I know plenty of people had to have seen this thread but nobody has commented on the sample on your website. People like you man and maybe they don't want to hurt your feelings by saying something rude. I like you too even if your personality and mine are polar opposites. That's why I'm asking, because I'd want someone to tell me what they really think.
This is a great post. For those who don't know, I've been a regional performing artist/producer for almost 2 decades. I've done hundreds of shows. I've opened for many popular rap/hip hop acts: Warren G/Nate Dogg E-40 Too Short Mac Dre The Luniz C-Bo Twista Dru Down 3x Crazy (popular Oakland group) and many others. I've also done shows where I've been told: "Ok, you're going on after the hula hoop girl". I've been cheered immensely for my music. There have been times when I've been booed (fumbled my lyrics at a rap battle. Still won it tho.) In that time, I've been handed so many demos, EPs, and videos, that I've had to critique and give honest criticism to. Like Bodyman said, it takes a lot to put yourself out, especially in a venue where honest criticisms are rare from people who like you. People who like you might not give you the honest, constructive criticism that ever artist deserves. I like you Eric. You're a good Blazer fan, and you even got this black man (5% of black people watch Bones) watching Bones just to see you. Again, like Bodyman said, the question really is: Is this a serious attempt at a music career? Because if it is, I can only be honest. By being honest I'll have to say,
What’s with all the overly earnest concern? The last time I posted my music on here someone said they rather commit suicide than listen to it. Why does KS get all this soft touch concern?
It was probably me that said the suicide stuff. Don't recall. I always give Eric shit or at least like posts of those who do. Thought I'd try and be more diplomatic for once... I'm getting old and it's worth a shot.

I don't dislike it. The drummer is pretty good. I think each instrument should be on it's own track though. Is that the case @SportsAndWhine?
