<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MEDIOCRE? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? MIKE BIBBY. the dude who took arizona to the ncaa finals...the dude who took sacramento to the quarter finals his first year with them, the dude who took them to the semi finals the following year? he's got tons of athleticism and makes everyone around him better. you call this guy mediocre? mediocre players don't end up being the leaders of their team...dude, this guy is a soon-to-be all-star.</div>
Are you sure you actually read what he wrote? He said Bibby is mediocre in athletic ability. Being mediocre in athletic ability has nothing to do with being mediocre as a player. Tim Duncan is considered a Top 3 [mostly #1] on most people's list, yet in terms of pure athleticism, he's just average.

Bibby's weakness would have to be his defensive ability, he's not much of a defender, and isn't one you can really rely on defensively. Offensively though, he's a very good player, a little more quickness would benefit him in his ability to get to the basket and as a drive and dish player, but outside of that, he's good. With Webber gone now, expect him to put up numbers close to 20 PPG and 8 APG.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GiantMidget:</div><div class="quote_post">So then youre saying he lacks flashiness and somehow thats a weakness.</div>

Not flashiness exactly, but a constant creativity or a deep reperitore of moves. IMO it is harder to guard someone constantly creative as opposed to someone who has favorite and reliable moves(not saying MB is repetive) to use. Still, Mike's good enough to do what he does, and him averaging 20 ppg and 8 assists sounds good to me.

I still would pay to see someone else. If I watch MB play a game, I wouldn't see much new things that I haven't seen before. Still, I'd start him in a playoff game over many other guards out there.

Thank you folks. I have come away with this...

Top 4 point guard, and I don't disagree.
Lacks defensive intensity and a little lacking in creativity.
Soon-to-be All Star (pending some sense in fan's heads).
Likes the left a little too much.
Flusters with a large, active defender in his face.
When focus of defense, not as productive.

Sounds like a damn fine point guard to me. Again, I only get to watch him a little, but he sure seems to know his way around a defense.

I'm just kind of compiling a little mental inventory of the players around the league that impress me most.

Tell me if the points you read sum it up, or if they need some tweaking.

Ha! Go onto www.mikebibby.com go into videos and you'll see a video of him dunking in a game, although he was with the grizzlies when that happened, but still!
