BOSTON - The Boston Celtics announce that forward Al Jefferson had successful appendectomy surgery at New England Baptist Hospital today. The surgery was performed by Dr. Steven Camer and Dr. Farhat Homsy and assisted by Celtics Team Physician Dr. Brian McKeon.

This seriously STINKS! ! ! Even though it was only 3 games into the season, Al was performing very well. He was looking more like the Big Al everyone has projected him to be. Lets hope Perk and Theo step up, big time.

While I'm a little in shock that an appendectomy is the reason this time (seems everything happens to this poor kid), it'll be interesting to see how Olowokandi handles his increased minutes. He says that he's been reborn, we'll see how true that is.
