The OT forum is supposed to provide an arena for the posting and debate of non-Blazers topics.

Not my fault some folks aren't up to the scary task of political discourse.

I value their strongly-held opinions whether they have the courage to reveal them to me or not.

Anyone who, on Holocaust Remembrance Day no less, reduces all the crimes of Nazism to the level of neutering a pet is a Nazi apologist.

Cats surgery went well but they looked terrible this morning; not the incisions which were fine, but they were so shaky and uncoordinated they could barely walk, had trouble getting their food into their mouths, I could see spilled water. Their normal palsy condition was 10 times worse than usual. I called the vet who said due to their cerebral palsy they might take longer to metabolize the anesthesia and pain medication. I dashed home on my lunch, packed them up, and ran them to the clinic. She is going to observe them over the afternoon, hydrate if necessary. I will pick them up end of day. Hopefully a quiet weekend is all they need.

Come to think of it I could use one too - electricity in my kitchen went out yesterday, had to meet my brother in Berkeley to get key to my late father's house since we are all going down to pack it up, an AC Transit bus had stalled on 580 blocking a lane and sending traffic to hell, since I'm driving to my father's house and my siblings are flying I get to cook and pack meals for 3 people for 2 days, and my brother is vegetarian and I can't use any kitchen appliances until I get an electrician. (oven & refrigerator work but can't plug anything in) The electrician I usually hire retired, the handyman who was pruning my fruit trees took a look but could not fix, recommended someone whom I called, he just went to Hawaii for a week's vacation, called landlord, he said try Yelp. Blue Cross is saying they don't cover an office visit because, get this, doctor is in a medical building - they all are, these days! Fighting them. Auto insurance company decided I don't exist. The title to my father's car, which I inherited, is lost, so I have to fill out a million DMV forms.

And I need SOME time to protest!!!!

OUCH! Rough couple of days. I know you are a hell of a cook and a foody but honestly, you need to get a 6 pack of good beer, order a pizza and you and the cats relax on the sofa while watching movies. Actually I would make it a pizza and chinese food kinda weekend for everyone. Getting together with your family to pack up your dad's place is going to be a bit stressful and emotional, worrying about fixing everyone meals on top of that with a kitchen not up to your regular standards isn't going to help.

Tell your cats they have a dog friend in Portland but to stay away from central Oregon.

Thanks for kind thoughts but my sister is a food snob, my brother is a vegetarian and I don't drink beer!

I am bringing a pan of cheese lasagna, a pan of black bean enchiladas, I already have some soup made and frozen, just made hummus, will make granola, pancakes, pita, chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies and a bottle of Zinfandel. Hopefully enough.

As long as it gets the Blazers a center with unbreakable knees I'm fine with it.

you have to remember he's portraying a character on here that does not necessarily reflect his actual, real life, views (outside of, I would assume, his appreciation for Bend).

When you remember that, you put him into the pile of posters who say shit just to get a response.
