I think Purdue will be VERY good in a year or so. THey are starting 3 fresh and 2 sophomores this year and will still be solid. They brought in a top 8 recruiting class last year.

13 minutes left in the 2nd half when I first get to turn on the Badger game, and it's 57-37 Duke and they've shot 9 of 14 from 3. LMAO. Who ranked the Badgers? There's no way we should be ranked. As I said, we have 3 guards on the whole team. Duke is PERFECTLY assembled to dumptruck us every time out. Meanwhile, we're 3 of 13 from 3. Wow.

Nah, Kam Taylor graduated after last season. Trevon Hughes is trying to decide if he's going to be Taylor or Devin Harris.

LOL Nelson dunking on Landry. This is an absolute highlight reel for Duke. Typical that Wisconsin's very worst effort is on national TV with Dukie V calling the action. Disaster scenario for Wiscy.

Schaddy, how would you compare this to the Zona game from the tourney 2 years ago? How much higher is this on the "Embarrassment Therometer"?

Wow, thanks for rubbing salt in it, man..lol

The Zona loss is worse because both teams knew that neither was appreciably better - resume wise, wins wise, maybe talent wise for zona but team play, defense and intangiblesfor Bucky. Yet on a neutral court, they just pounded on us. In this game, we played at an exceptionally hostile environment. We are a team without much of an identity. The Devils have not only 8 All Americans but more returning known quantities than the Badgers, who really only return role players and a massive disappointment in Brian Butch. He has not made a 3 this season: 0-14. This from a guy who won't dare put his back to the basket because of his perimeter shooting. Yuck.

I'm gonna quit ranting on my team now, because we're not all bad. 5-1 was as good as I hoped to start this year. I never expected us to win at Duke. We looked pretty bad in the 1st half against Georgia, but finished very strong. The team has role players returning, as I said, and some of them will become good players. Namely Trevon Hughes, Jon Leuer - who really played well in our previous games, and despite looking very much like a freshman on a couple of occasions, he showed that he can score, and Jason Bohannon, who seems to be searching for his role so far. He needs to just shoot the ball, because that's what he does best. I know Bo wants flow and post touches, but hell, we need scoring. If Jason gets the ball with a look on the wing, chuck that thing up there. Anyways, a few days back I thought this: " there's bound to be a period of experimentation and discovery, along with a few wtf performances, before consistency is found."

That is still the reality for this team. While the system and the players' experience will take care of the games we probably should win, but when it comes to the Dukes and Marquettes and other real good teams, we have a lot of work to do. Our upcoming home game with Marquette will be really big. Right now UW is 96-5 at the Kohl Center under Bo. In what appears to be a season that could go either way, defending home court against not only a rival but a contender will be a serious tipping point. I think I liked it better when this rivalry wasn't so competitive...then again, I have trouble remembering the last time that was. LOL

Duke is looking very impressive and they just used their defense, athleticism, and talent to beat up on the slower Badgers. Make no mistake, Duke is talented despite not having much size. You just have to hope Wisconsin learns from this game and trys to dicate the tempo as much as possible next time they play an athletic team.

What, you thought Bo only knows hoops? The man also knows how to cut a rug LMAO

Tucson Clip has a point, though it's not just 'athletic' teams that the Badgers struggle against. It's teams that have 8 McDonalds All-Americans. I'm pretty sure that 98.5% of teams who play against that many studs usually lose. It's unfortunate, but I'm objective enough to give it to you straight: Duke has more talent that the Badgers, and it was obvious last night. Not only are the Badgers struggling to replace the two best players from the best team the program has ever had, but they were up against a team that, sadly, is just on another level than wewere last night. Duke is one of the best teams in the country - every year. I honestly don't feel shame in losing to them; I was prepared for it. The only thing that stings is the point differential - a solid, defensive-minded and tempo-controling team like UW should NOT get blown out...EVER. However, the sad reality is that most teams get a lesson in humility when they visit Cameron Indoor, and we were no different. As I said, it's not like we should be sitting here expecting that the sky is the limit for Bucky. It's not. This team is finding itself right now, and it may take a bit longer. Bo Ryan is a tremendous coach. There's absolutely no doubting that. Yet it takes awhile to completely overhaul your team's mentality - from relying on a first team All-American and another 13-14 ppg guy and lead guard, to hoping that a true sophmore who averaged about 7 minutes per game last year and an underacheiving touted recruit can keep your team on par with the Dukes, Tar Heels and Bruins of the world.

As I said before, the Badgers have a lot of work to do. They should be NOWHERE near the top 25. I don't know why we were ranked #20 this week. We looked like garbage in the 1st half against UGA before a major rally. This team has a lot of questions to answer, and we aren't going to find the answers overnight. In all fairness, we should be talking about Michigan St or Indiana, the good teams in the Big 10, not the Badgers, who are nothing until they make a statement on the court. It's just not our time right now.
