The Oklahoma Sooners are working on finalizing a deal to hire East Carolina offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley for the same position on Bob Stoops' staff, a source confirmed to ESPN.com on Monday. Former Iowa State receiver P.J. Harris has been arrested and charged with attempting to strangle his girlfriend. Harris was booked on an aggravated domestic assault/strangulation charge. He was being held in a Story County jail without bond. Ames Police spokesman Jason Tuttle says Harris' girlfriend told officers Harris pushed her against a wall, threw her on a bed and began to strangle her Thursday. Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said Monday that quarterback Daxx Garman will transfer. Gundy said he expects Garman to graduate in May and then go somewhere where he can start. Garman became Oklahoma State's starter last season after J.W. Walsh went down for the season with a right foot injury. Garman completed 55 percent of his passes for 2,041 yards with 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while operating behind a makeshift, leaky young line.
