Morris and TCU beat No. 14 Baylor in first game without GP

Gary Patterson wasn't on the sideline at a TCU game for the first time since 1997. The former Horned Frogs coach was watching from somewhere, and feeling proud.

Chandler Morris threw for 461 yards and two touchdowns in his first start for TCU and the Frogs beat No. 14 Baylor 30-28 on Saturday, six days after Patterson and the school mutually agreed to immediately part ways before completing his 21st season as head coach

Caleb Williams leads No. 12 Oklahoma past Iowa State 28-21

Oklahoma's imperfect season still could end with a Big 12 championship, and possibly more.

Caleb Williams passed for a touchdown and ran for another, Jalen Redmond returned a fumble for a score, and No. 12 Oklahoma beat Iowa State 28-21 on Saturday.

Shapen ushers No. 11 Baylor to 20-10 win over K-State

Baylor had played poorly on the road all season, and was locked in another tight tussle with red-hot Kansas State, when quarterback Gerry Bohanon grabbed his right hamstring heading out of bounds in the first half Saturday night.

    Nothing to worry about.

Just call on a redshirt freshman who'd thrown three career passes.

Blake Shapen completed 16 of 21 passes for 137 yards to steady the Bears on offense, and their defense smothered Kansas State, helping secure a 20-10 victory that kept their Big 12 title hopes alive.

No. 9 Baylor in B12 title game after win over Tech, OSU win

Baylor coach Dave Aranda lauded his ninth-ranked Bears for the season they have had after getting their 10th win earlier in the day.

Now, after a little help, they get to play for a Big 12 title

Baylor holds on for Big 12 title, knocks Okla St out of CFP

Dezmon Jackson came up inches short on a desperate, fourth-down dive in the final seconds for Oklahoma State, knocking the fifth-ranked Cowboys out of contention for a spot in the four-team playoff.

"Just heartbreak," Cowboys guard Josh Sills said.

Baylor safety Jairon McVea knocked Jackson out of bounds without letting him reach the pylon with 24 seconds remaining in the Big 12 championship game Saturday, preserving a 21-16 victory for the ninth-ranked Bears a year after they won only two games in coach Dave Aranda's debut season.

No. 6 Baylor tops No. 8 Ole Miss in Sugar Bowl; Corral hurt

A Sugar Bowl showdown against Mississippi and coach Lane Kiffin's explosive, Southeastern Conference-leading offense provided a high-profile platform for Baylor to validate its old-school formula of ball control and aggressive defense.

Al Walcott set a Sugar Bowl record with a 96-yard interception return, Monaray Baldwin raced 48 yards for the go-ahead score on an end around, and sixth-ranked Baylor beat No. 8 Mississippi 21-7 Saturday night as injured Rebels quarterback Matt Corral watched from the sideline on crutches.

No. 6 OU routs Huskers 49-14 in 1st game after Frost firing

When Saturday's Oklahoma-Nebraska game was scheduled 10 years ago, the intention was to celebrate what once was among college football's greatest rivalries.

It turned out to be further confirmation the Cornhuskers are just a shell of the program that decades ago battled the Sooners for conference titles year in and year out.

Dillon Gabriel threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, and sixth-ranked Oklahoma hammered Nebraska 49-14 in the Huskers' first game following the firing of Scott Frost.
