Not a bad record for not playing defense. Maybe if they played less defense (can you play less defense than not playing any?) they would have an even better record.
Repped I like that we started the year forcing people to fight through screens to get used to it as Matthews used to be the only one who would do so. However, there are certain people you want shooting long jumpers, Andre Miller, Ricky Rubio are perfect examples of guys you go under the screen on. Steph Curry is not.
Right. One thing that makes Lillard so dangerous is that he can shoot from well behind the arc. You can't go behind the screen on Lillard. Additionally, we should be aware of how far out the pick is being set. If it is beyond, say, 3 feet outside the arc, go under the screen. There aren't many pg's that are going to burn us by shooting 3's at 28 feet. Curry and Lillard are pretty unique in that regard.
What worries me is that we will get into the playoffs and run into a defensive, but not explosive team and they will school us. Phoenix has a decent defense. Don't they?
I would love AK-47 but he is the one of the biggest bargains in the NBA and loyal to the Russian owner he is not going anywhere.
Yep. Wouldn't be surprised if they have a side agreement where the Russian Gazzilionaire gives AK-47 all his harlots or free rain of his house in the off-season. Something along those lines.
He is loaded and doesn't seem to care about money. All his checks from playing in Russia he donated to charities. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Which is why I think he went with the Nets. He could have made a lot more anywhere else but specifically wanted to play for the Russian. Saying the owner is offering some perks, not that AK needs or wants the perks.
Sounds as if the Blazers are incorporating some zone Practice Report - Defensive Focus January 13, 2014 - During a rare spell of off days the Trail Blazers have time to focus intently on studying tape and improving their defense.
I still think it is largely a scheme problem and not purely a personnel problem. I maintain that we need to change the scheme for defending the pick-n-roll.
