Are you kidding? Now that Yi The All Star has moved to Washington, Travis Outlaw will earn his rightful place as an All Star in New Jersey.
No, but teams in states with an income tax might be - yes, I'm serious. Teams in Cold weather locales a la Minnesota might also be.
Actually, now that I think of it, Beasley might be the biggest loser. Going from Miami to Minnesota? Buy that man a serious Coat.
I've actually thought that it would be fair if the new CBA leveled the playing field in terms of taxes across the board. The Raptors get killed while MIA and ORL get a huge benefit.
That's not a bad idea: the NBA-collected "taxes" from Florida and Texas could go to retired players' pension schemes. That way the players can't really object..
Talking of people who lost out, Mo Williams' twitter feed makes poignant reading... Another big loser has to be Dan Gilbert's dignity...
The only way they become the biggest loser in this is if they spend all their current cap space on dudes like Trout. If they do, then they are fucked. If not, then they are simply trying to build a contender in the same way Portland and OKC have tried to do.
I think Lebron is the biggest loser. I honestly feel that if he had gone anywhere but Miami that people would have been ok with it after a time. He cost himself millions of fans, and the chance to go down as a very beloved athlete. He might not realize it, or even care right now, but at some point he will.
Who outside Orlando cared that Shaq ditched them when he was winning a threepeat in LA? Apparently people can forgive Kobe for rape. I think James will be forgiven by midseason by everybody outside Ohio.
I don't think so. It was the way Lebron left the Cavs not that he left. He was on stage for the world to see what a asshole he really is.
Cleveland, most, because they surrounded James with complementary players, hired a GM and coach to his liking, rebuilt the franchise around him, and now they are maybe a .500 team in a half empty (road and home) arena. Knicks, because they spent 2 years saying LeBron was coming to a very bad team. LeBron learned in Cleveland he can't win a title by himself. And the Cavs were a better team than the Knicks, even with Amare. The Bulls, because they've been looking for a savior since Jordan left. I think the Nets less than others, they got nothing but they do have some young talent, a long term plan, and a rich and hopefully patient owner. The Lakers, because some of the sports media said the very best thing in the world would be James/Bryant together. The Clippers, still irrelevant. The rest of the West counts as winners, as west continues to have a lot more parity.
I don't think he came across as obnoxious. He wasn't really very slick or polished. Of course what was obnoxious was the very fact of the show. But soon such things will be so commonplace that we'll forget it seemed weird.
I don't forgive Kobe for rape, nor can I. Only the woman he raped can. And only when he publicly apolgizes. Until then I consider him a shit, pardon my French, and apologies to shit.
Portland was one of the group of winners. Why? None of the big three moved to the West. Amare and Boozer to the West. No new superteam in the West. Besides the Lakers, the West looks to be wide open right now. On paper, when healthy, the roster we currently have looks like it can hang with anybody.
So you would rather him go to the Lakers? Personally I respect him more for ditching Cleveland for a place he will be happy at, instead of buying into the whole New York "media capital of the world" sales pitch. And why would going to Chicago (Which is close to Cleveland) have been OK? I don't get it. Because Wade is better than Rose and Bosh is better than Boozer? Not by much. FucK Chicago, NY, and LA
