I put the interview with Bayno on Youtube incase anyone wants to watch it:
Re: Bill Banyo on Oden. As a rookie, Aldridge averaged 9/5. Oden, as a rookie averaged 9/7 with all kinds of set backs and being out of shape. Aldridge made a huge jump in his second year, no reason not to expect that from Oden. Edit for typos, twice!
Dreamcloud, now that sounds like an awesome player nickname! (Like a cross between Hakeem Olajuan and the Rainman...)
Re: Bill Banyo on Oden. yeah all my life thanks... i'm not excited because until i see a video of him "dominating"...thats all ive heard, every practice. greg dominates blah blah
Re: Bill Banyo on Oden. Good point. Aldridge even averaged basically the same playing time Oden did his rookie season also. If Oden can get the minutes Aldridge did, Oden will make just as big of leap.
LMAO, sorry about that, I was practicing on my keyboard, didn't think it would pick it up from that far lol
Damn I was going to post "what sound there is no sound in the background??" and see if I could get a bunch of people to jump in and convince him he was hearing things.
Bill Bayno has done a hell of a job with the offensive side of the game for Blazer bigs in the past. I expect the same with Oden. He is really good on the footwork, and establishing position. He took Zbo and Aldridge to another level offensivly IMO.
One of the reasons I was sad to see him go last year. Now, I'm glad he's back. I also wanted to note that people are forgetting Oden's impact on the court last season. Imagine if he hadn't been injured 21 games. The Blazers might have won 60 games. That goes to show that if he comes back stronger, faster, and healthier, the Blazers are going to surprise the league (again) this season.
http://www.blazeoflove.com/2009/07/greg-oden-and-girlfriend-take-over.html Don't be fooled by this interview! Greg isn't working out for gods sakes! (I'm joking around. )
I understand the optimism, but I realy think you are selling Joel short. Even if Oden had played 82 games, I'm not sure it would have made that profound a difference. There were too many nights he was in foul trouble, and too many nights when he just looked lost. We had some clear weaknesses last season, but having Joel at center wasn't one of them.
According to Jason Quick, Bayless never went back to Ohio State. He even giggled about something when Quick asked him about it.
That's not how it happened. - Quick asked Bayless how Greg looked since Bayless was training with him. - Quick said Bayless, with a little grin on his face, said he never went to Ohio State. After that, Quick speculated maybe the Blazers are trying to keep the Oden news down to a minimum and Bayless is doing that by saying he didn't train with Greg.
I spoke to someone who was there, and Bayless was on hand with Greg as well as Mike Conley Jr. Bayless was being coy I believe. Wheels reported it as well in an interview with Bobby Medina that Bayless was there
