So I can call myself a Christian if my dad and mom are Christian but I don't agree with the Christian way of life?

I do not try to live by any religious standard or follow any Jewish laws (although I am still a good person) so I am not a good Jew. But I am a Jew.

But that is not the definition of being Christian. To be Christian, I believe you need to accept Jesus into your heart.

Two different sets of rules, two different definitions.

So says you who doesn't understand it at all.

It is both a religion and a race. If you are born Jewish, you will always be Jewish. It's genetic, hereditary, etc. Just like being of Korean descent.

For the majority of Jews, there are genes, that's why there are certain diseases only Jews or people of Jewish decent can get.

Question... Can a black person or asian that was not a Jew at birth, whom converted to judaism be a Jew? So if that person converts to Judaism, inherit those diseases you just mentioned?

.also, it is not easy to become Orthodox Jew which is really the Jew that counts if you are not in the blood line and wish to be considered Jewish by Israel. My sister-in-law got married in a reformed synagogue because she and my brother didn't really want to do more than take a handful of classes. My brother-in-law took classes every week for a year to be allowed to convert to be a conservative Jew. My cousin married a man five years after they began planning because she wanted him to be orthodox, and that was how long it took for the Rabbis to approve of him.

My guess is that most of the Jewish Koreans, Blacks ... That you know would not be considered Jewish by Israel.

Yes they can. But it's fucking hard and there aren't many, read my previous post. You are wrong if you don't think it is also a race. It is a religion and a race.

When I was at sea world a man called my mom a fucking-hook-nosed-Jew. We were not dressed any differently, we look Jewish. Big noses, curly hair and a giant dick (I'm going to slide that one if for fun). Just as you might be singled out for slanted eyes or darker skin.

I found this out when my wife was pregnant. I have Ashkenazi Jew heritage and was amazed at how long the list was. Also, I became highly uncomfortable with the fact that my heritage had the word "Nazi" in it.

Right, but a person born a Jew cannot stop being a Jew. No more than someone born Japanese can become something else.

So according to this line of thinking, how does a good Jew reach Abraham's bosom? Is it something you earn? Is there a sliding mitzvah scale that determines ones eternal destination?

Also, would you say that this is why many Jews had/have such a problem with the teachings of Jesus--because he indicated that a person's actions didn't matter as much as their heart?

I would have never thought that talking about bill gates would stem a convo like this.
