Yes the LA Times is dying. I can't think of any paper doing solid right now. It's impossible for print media to compete with the internet. Craigslist killed all the classified ad money newspapers made.

It's unfortunate that newspapers are a dying breed of media, but this is something that's been happening for many years now. Circulation is down for quite a few of the major papers and it's because of the internet making accessing news so much more convenient.
