Look, I'm aware that people say and do fucked up things mostly because they are ignorant of something or they don't think it will happen to them. Family Guy makes fun of everything. I never had a problem with anything they did no matter how hurtful it may have been to someone. Then my aunt had a massive stroke. Not too long after they had an episode where Peter had a stroke. I couldn't watch it. I didn't send them an angry email or want to boycott the show. I just didn't watch it. So, I don't think I've made any comments about your illness and I think anyone with a bit of decency would do the same. Just don't let unaware people piss you off and definitely don't dwell on it. I know how it is when something that you didn't think about much hits home.
I don't mean those stupid "cakes" that DQ used to sell that are just cake shapes made entirely out of ice cream though, buying one of those does qualify you as stupid if not downright crazy.
I commend you for being open about your struggles with the disorder, Kingspeed. I myself very rarely admit to suffering from Bipolar I. And have seen too many people spit out by the system. When I was young the treatments were still fairly new and not wide spread. But I got sick of being treated like a statistic but told I wasn't one. I tell people, "your treatment and illness does not define you. It's merely part of your psychological makeup." This isn't Silver Linings Playbook. I've never been hospitalized. I've never even dealt with the cops. I'm just very resourceful and high functioning.
Proud of you, Eric! Keep up the good work of putting awareness out there and fighting back against stigmas.
I'll ask what everybody wants to ask but is too scared to....... when you claim that this team is better than last seasons, AFTER 5 MINUTES INTO GAME ONE...... will this be the reason?
