The term "token black" has long been considered offensive.

But to address your question I think if Biden selects a black american as vice president I think you will have to seen who the rest of his cabinet is before you can make that determination or claim.

When everything is offensive, offensive things suddenly aren't as much anymore

Don't like this idea. The black community needs representation no doubt, but this isn't the way to do it. Republicans would LOVE for this to happen.

Does it matter? I don't believe black Americans possibly starting their own political party has anything to do with the representation they are or aren't getting from the republican party.

In my opinion, unfortunately any vote NOT for the democratic candidate is a vote FOR the Republican one.

You're right, they should just elect an obviously senile old establishment white man and have Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer take another knee wearing a Kunta Kintae scarf.

And if the Harris rumors are true, she has a bad track record as a DA with the black community and fairness.

The Black Community should elect someone who fights for them. Not these charlatans pre-approved by the DNC.

You think the dems will actually enact real change? Fuck no. I know y'all want Trump out, but to sell out as bad as the left will to get it done. Sad.

I don't think "we're not as bad as the republicans" is going to work for black voters anymore.

I'm all for a new party, but I hope we don't splinter off into each minority group having their own parties.

Well, actually, if that leads to more accurate representation, I'm for it.

I think it’s only a matter of time before the Democrats fracture because of all the competing interest groups. The party glue only lasts as long as people feel they are getting their demands considered.

I'm not sure we even need a president anymore...we need a council of experts that represent a diverse set of interests to lead the country...one person or party really can't do that. I'm ready for more major change in politics than most people are considering....and term limits across the board...no one political party should have power to stop progress or work against a healthy form of leadership...no party should dominate congress or the senate or the executive branch of govt....want to shake it up! Think big! Joe Biden was the only candidate I've ever heard say he'd considering a Republican running mate..that it's the skills not the allegiance..that's thinking outside the status quo...

Right now on one side there is a looming white power branch in charge (trump republicans). On the other side the most Black rights and civil rights focused populous we’ve had in decades. Those of us supporting BLM from all angles need to come together and use our collective strengths, not fracture into teams. Otherwise the racist societal structures and ongoing disparities won’t change and team Trump (racists) will win.

Yeah, but thats kind of like Joe said that upset many, "If you don't vote for me you aint Black". People should vote for whom they want, not for two screwed up parties. I want a third or forth party with equal opportunity. BLM is a great idea, but even within the black demographic you have evangelicals and moderate's, it would be diverse. The radical right and left could have their parties too.

We have several parties now....it's money that needs to leave the race....how many people can name the candidates from the Libertarian, Constitutional, Green or independent parties....see any in the debates? Me neither......money keeps them from having a fair shot.....I voted Gary Johnson last time but I'm not taking any Trump risk this time...we also need to follow most of the world and make campaigns 6 weeks long start to finish. this 2 year campaign is insanely expensive and taxing of our resources and in the end you have burned out presidents serving a first term
