    John Kelly, President Trump’s former chief of staff, is defending former Defense Secretary James Mattis after the president said that he had the "honor" of firing "world’s most overrated general."

    On Wednesday night, Trump denounced Mattis in a pair of tweets after the former Pentagon chief released a scorching statement criticizing the president's leadership amid nationwide protests against police brutality.



    “The president did not fire him. He did not ask for his resignation,” Kelly, a retired Marine Corps general, told The Washington Post on Thursday.
    Kelly said that the president must have “clearly forgotten how it actually happened or is confused.” Kelly has also been critical of the president since leaving his post as chief of staff in 2018.
    “The president tweeted a very positive tweet about Jim until he started to see on Fox News their interpretation of his [resignation] letter. Then he got nasty. Jim Mattis is an honorable man,” Kelly told the Post.

    You've posted about 50 times about Kasich...write in your vote for him...find an independent..you don't have to vote for Biden but you would be making a huge mistake voting for Trump...best of both worlds...I didn't vote Hillary or Trump so I can bitch all I want about partisan politics....your guy failed and is failing...propping him up is being on the worst side of history...we need a unifier not a divider...exercise your voice and be guilt free with your vote....a vote for Trump is a vote for dishonest leadership...proven fact..there's simply never been a worse example of failed leadership in your lifetime..Trump's one term was a swing and a miss at a wild pitch ...next batter
