I only watched the first one but I've done something worse a few months ago.

I was at Winco and happened to be in the bathroom at the same time as a young black employee that I'd seen sweeping up the front of the store was in the toilet stall.

I was washing my hands and saw him walk out behind me and leave the bathroom. GROSSSSSSSSSS. That is one of my pet peeves. Winco has a sign posted that employees will be dismissed if they don't wash their hands.

I know for a fact I would have ratted out a white guy but I figured it would seem racist because nobody would rat on a white guy (which I would certainly do).....plus, I figured that since he only cleaned the front of the store it wasn't a big deal.

A month later I saw him working in the meat department and he wasn't wearing gloves and his coworkers were. FUUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!

Yup. This one is completely on you. Look at what you did: Instead of telling on his ass, you assumed based upon some silly preconceived notion that the Black person would've lied and "played the race card" (another white privilege statement) instead of owning up to his nastiness (one of the grossest things in the world to me is when people don't wash their hands after they use the bathroom).

You should've told on his ass.

Conversely what I would've done is head him off before he gets away. I'd say something to him personally before I went to his boss.

    You've gotta be kidding me...

Bro... Racism is a learned behavior. There is nothing inherent about it at all...

I'm talking about the tendency to fear the unknown, which is really the xenophobia part of what I was talking about. I think that's hard wired to a large degree. Banding together for common security and interests against the outsider is seen throughout human history...tribalism, nationalism and even gangs. Racism takes that tendency in a specific direction against people having different racial characteristics. While I think that the tendency towards fear and mistrust of people who are different is somewhat innate, I think that you're absolutely correct that the learned components of hatred are by far the cause of the majority of racial misery.

I too only watched the first one since I don't personally know any living slaves, so ptslaved means nothing.

What are the national averages of fraud by race? Serious question. Maybe the employees were told to look for bad checks from a black female because there had been other instances? You don't know, and neither did she. Was she looking for "racism?"

I didn't think he would play the race card, I thought it would SEEM racist. I guess I talked myself into not ratting him out.

Hell, I wouldn't have blamed him if he thought it was racial. I am a big completely bald white guy. Lily white. Like I have to hide from the sun.

I am not one to keep quiet in public, it is actually the complete opposite. I called a Sams Club receipt checker racist for digging through a black ladies' cart, to his face. I asked him why of the multiple times he had checked my receipt he never dug through my cart.

It was basically the same thing as the video.

That there is pure bullshit. If this woman fit the EXACT description of a specific person who'd passed bad checks at this exact store then maybe.

My wife has hired and fired hundreds of people over the years. Maybe thousands. You can choose whatever color or type of person big fat tall or short, doesn't matter. She hires people solely on their interviews and experience and references. Her stores are always setting sales records year after year and a more diverse group of employees would be hard to find.

My wife could refuse to hire people based on the same assumptions this cashier may have been operating on. It would be just as shitty.

My suggestion is to let your children know there is a neighborhood watch and inform the neighborhood watch that your children live in the neighborhood. That works for any race.
Then you need to understand, standing your ground is much different than going to Whoop Ass, your children should be informed of the difference, especially the importance of not doing Whoop Ass on the neighborhood watch. It could save their life.

I'm married. A reason to not file jointly is so both persons may pursue careers and to have some arm's length.

    Google "married filing separately."

It probably doesn't matter what his tax situation is, it's a smokescreen.

His wife made money as a conservative activist all along. No matter how he and the court ruled, she'd have been paid the same.

    Next?

I think its probably bullshit too, but we dont know.

If stores around town were getting hit by a black female, and that was the description, then the checker should be more cautious

I always wanna know why but the most obvious reason is probably best. Maybe the cashier's cat got hit by a black lady in an SUV? If we find out that was it, we can call racism dead forever. It was just a misunderstanding.

I mentioned my wife hiring and firing people in this thread. She's told me things employees she doesn't care for personally have done and asked if she should fire them. I asked her if the ones she liked would be fired for the same thing and if she says no....... I tell her not to.

Life ain't fair but that's no reason not to try.

That's not the correct response but it's the one I would expect from a white male. Your response has no empathy and could not even try to step into the shoes of the person dealing with the issue. You don't know what that woman has gone through in her life. Oscar winner Forest Whitaker was accused of stealing from a deli. This shit happens to us every day. I don't think for one minute that she made that up. But your response is typical for someone who never has to deal with anything like that.

Cool, I'm glad people liked your post disagreeing with where I said MM's post was pure bullshit. So, you agree with him that maybe checkers were told to be like that?

Read it again. Hope you just quoted the wrong post. Don't expect everyone to think one way and I won't either.

His reaction is what I consider the knee jerk type stuff people use to deflect things.

It doesn't even have to be true in this instance. You could literally be right about this one time and it wouldn't change the point that millions of black people have been treated like this by millions of white people. And others, I don't speak Spanish but I know the Spanish version of the N word.

I didn't ask what it was, I asked what the word I kept hearing meant.
