I have heard that in the past but haven't heard any of that this year. Blake's game has really grown. Especially being a willing passer.

I always wonder about this. Would he in fact lose his Kia endorsement if he were in Portland? People like to throw endorsement money around as a "Why" Portland is a bad fit. Is being in OKC hurting Kevin Durants chances? Or what about Lebron in Cleveland. I get it that back in the Day guys really wanted more endorsement money, they still do, but 20 years ago a lot of that money was coming from small local shops like Standard TV and Appliance. Anymore players make so much on their normal contracts that the small local opportunities really aren't worth the time or effort anymore. What really matters is being on a good team and having a marketable personality.

A great example, being in Portland didn't stop Dame from getting $100 mill from Adidas.

In this example you pose, no I don't think he would lose his current ones but I do think that he would get less new ones here than if he stayed put.

Of course a superstar like Durant (Blake is not on his level even if he thinks so) is going to get sponsorship no matter where he is. But even Durant would get more than he currently does if he went to the Knicks.

How many Knicks are getting endorsement money?

David Lee (who isn't even a star) made a crap-ton in endorsement money when employed by the Knicks and that almost all dried up moving to the Warriors. I don't have the exact number but I bet Sly does as he brings it up quite often.

The thing that's difficult to quantify is the local endorsements that guys like Kobe or Blake get in a city like LA. What has LaMarcus gotten in Portland? A car dealership ad? Those new ones for a beer or something like that?

You guys think this could be smoke for a DeAndre for LMA swap (yes I know LMA would never play center so it's a moot point to begin with)?

Lee is brought up often in regards to this topic, but wasn't that a Knicks team that was devoid of stars? He hasn't gotten the ad money in GS because of Curry and Thompson. He's not even the third star on that team. Back when he was on the Knicks, he was their star. That was a Knicks team with Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry, and Wilson Chandler. Not exactly stacked with star power.

From Forbes top NBA Endosement players with media market size Numbers are from 2013

    Lebron $42 mil (Miami #19, Cle #17)
    Kobe $34 mil (LA #2)
    Rose $21 mil (Chi #3)
    Durant $14 mil (OKC #45)
    Wade $12 mil (Mia #19)
    Carmelo $9 mil (NYC #1)
    D Howard $7 mil (Hou #10)
    Amare $7 mil (NYC #1)
Chris Paul $3 Mil (LA #2)
    Gasol $3 mil (LA #2)
    Westbrook $3mil (OKC #45)
    Pierce $2mil (BKN #1)
    Bosh $2mil (Mia #19)
    D Williams $2mil (BKN #1)
    Dirk $1 mil (Dal #5)

As I keep going what I see is that it makes a difference for middle tier players like Derion Williams, but top tier All Stars get paid no matter what.

in 2014 Griffin made $6.5 mil in endorsements
Lillard is making about $10 mill a year just form Adidas, in little ole Portland.

Those numbers don't add up. I guarantee Chris Paul made more money than that with Nike, State Farm, etc.

He has to split those endorsements with Cliff Paul.

Griffin has had three triple doubles in these playoffs. Aldridge hasn't had a triple double ever, I don't think.

If CP3 were on the team LMA could get a triple double. CP3 opens the court more for his teammates than Lillard does.

But two of those 3 Triple-Doubles by Blake were without CP3 weren't they? At least one was I know.

I don't think Griffin is better than Aldridge. Well, except maybe in commercials.

Apparently Paul makes $4mil a year from Nike and about $2 mill a year combined from his other endorsers for a total of $6 mil a year now.

Swapping Aldridge for Blake Griffin increases the Clippers championship odds considerably.
